Makes my heart happy to see the two of you connecting! It's so important to go to El Salvador with a 'serving' mentality. The people are amazing, welcoming and helpful, so that makes it SO easy to want to serve them (happily).

Aaron is awesome. He wants to make things better for the community he’s living in, always trying to leave a positive mark. I’m living abroad myself, and unfortunately, I know many people form negative stereotypes because they’ve had the bad luck of meeting someone who arrived in their country and made things worse. It’s not fair, because it’s just a few people, but the rest of us end up carrying that stereotype. I just saw someone on Facebook complaining that there aren’t enough places to buy cigarettes in El Salvador and thinking about starting a business for it. Seriously? You move to a place where people might have bigger problems, and instead of helping, you’re adding something that could harm even more people over time. If we are not helping, at least we shouldn't be making things worse. But thankfully, there are people like Aaron who truly care and are focused on making a real, positive difference. God bless him!

I am not a chele because I am from the states. If I say “American” I get 100+ comments about Central Americans are Americans too. Gringo is an easy way to say ex-Pat from the north (US, Canadá, Europe) which is who this channel is targeting. The channel is LivinlikeaLocal -it’s about helping foreigners intégrate into El Salvador instead of bubble/colonize again. If you’ve watched all my videos and don’t get that, then I need to redo my approach. Thanks for the feedback.

Yo, I'm totally going to El Salvador next month because of this vlog. Haha, they got me hook, line, and sinker! El Salvador seems like a friendly country for tourists. I've heard nothing but great things about it. Even though they're still working on the trash problem, El Salvador is going to be huge. It's going to be one of the top places to visit in South America for sure. Here's my question though. If I rent a car, can I drive with my Singaporean license? I'm from Singapore, and my wife is from Canada. Will either of our licenses work there? We're planning to road trip around El Salvador for two weeks.

I'm from Canada and I moved to El Salvador in April. Do you by any chance know the process of getting your residency / DUI ?

Hi, I have a question. Do you know if it's easy to get 6 month tourist visa or will they ask a lot of questions and will try to give only 3 month visa? And if I only get 3 month visa, would I be at least be able to do a visa run at the end of the 3 months by going to another country for a day or two?
@livinlikealocalSV

El Salvador offers a maximum permit of 180 days as a tourist, which is not a VISA, since it is a tax of $12 dollars that you pay upon entry. You should know that it is the immigration officer's decision to give you that number of days. You must check your passport carefully when they enter the amount and you will know how much time you have. To renew your tourist permit you must leave zone C4, which are the countries with which El Salvador has a border. Although I recommend doing the residency process. This applies if you come from a country classified as category A and do not require a VISA to enter El Salvador.

@@livinlikealocalSV I'm from USA. I was thinking of applying for a Digital Nomad Visa while getting the 180 days. Would there be any reason for the officer to not give that number of days? So as long as I leave zone C4, I could come back after maybe a couple of days and have a renewed 90-80 days no problem? What is the residency process?
