Thank you once again for a wonderful tour. Also, for the link to Dickens Christmas. I always feel whimsical joining on your well filmed and interesting locations.

Hugely interesting and educational video! I learned a lot more about Charles Dickins! He had a very difficult childhood, which led to his passion of advocating for the poor people in Victorian times. A lot of these people lived in absolute abject poverty and illness with no hope, or means of finding a way out at all. Tragic reality 😢. Charles Dickins was one of the not many who managed to make enough of a living to work his way out of poverty.

Wonderful! How fascinating to see where Charles Dickens was born! It is also so interesting to hear about his father & his family. The house, both inside & out, is still quite lovely, along with the lovely walled garden! It is also very interesting to see the different artifacts & articles stored in the house, even the Rent ledger. This is a wonderful treasury of memories of a truly brilliant & creative Author & a unique man. Thank you for sharing another delightful experience!

Thanks as always for the tour. Learning the background of authors and artists is interesting, I think this is why Dickens was such a great writer as he wrote 'from experience.' Thanks and take care =-)

Used to be my favourite writer for almost two decades... I've read pretty much the entirety of his works. Now shifting towards Alexander Dumas. Count of Monte Cristo is just incredible. A recommendation for the like minded people

Wow! I always learn a lot from your videos, Simon and Will! I just learned something about Charles Dickens that I've never known before. Thank you for that and all that you do! The neighborhood the house is located in is simply beautiful, and so is that back garden. You both stay safe out there!

Thanks for yet another great video. My wife is a real estate agent and has decided to show her properties through KZitem. (She likes my videos but I've not done a normal size house or much work inside any relevant buildings). I've used this video to show how to present a house including drawing viewers interest from room to room and going upstairs in a way that makes the viewer feel like they are actually going through the house. The content is also very interesting

So interesting to see the actual place. It does appear they were living above their means. I hadn't realized Dickens was born in Portsmouth. Makes me think of Peggoty and the weird ship house, though I wonder if he was old enough for the seaside there to make an impresson. My first reading of Dickens other than A Christmas Carol was a copy of the 1888 printing of David Copperfield that my great aunt gave to me.

I’ve visited this place years ago. Very charming place. Was surprised how no one was there but one lady in the shop. Practically had the place to myself to calmly wonder around. Wished there was someone to explain things or at least more notes to read. Bought so many books from the shop. Very cheap.

What a lovely documentary! Very interesting. I really like the fact that the music fades out whenever you speak, many content creators keep blasting music throughout and it makes it extremely hard at times to follow what is being said. Great job.
