Author and comedian Steve Harvey writes about a less than romantic reality in relationships in his latest book. He talks to "The Early Show" about advice for men and women.
the problem is alot of guys don not agree with steve harvey because he is letting out what these guys are really all about, he is right but alot of guys see it as a threat to them because women are becoming wiser.

slimflex1 better a woman knows so they have the opportunity to make a better relationship. Men should feel relief that women are being guided towards the best way. If a woman knows this, there may be happier men and fewer bad decisions and outcomes. What is not to like?

The truth is that we all communicate, and recieve "LOVE" in different ways. All men should Provide and Protect. That's the RESPONSIBILITY of a man over his woman. But some men Profess a lot, some Dont. Some men give Gifts, some dont. Some are big on Quality time, some arent. So, one of the first questions in a relationship should be "How do you need to be loved?" That way both parties are giving each other what they need.

Lastly, if you take advice from someone who basically said men should just order you some chicken soup and his obligation is to watch tv instead of helping take care of you, and just "holla at you if you need somethin" then you don't deserve to be in a real committed relationship. That's not how I am, if I had a girlfriend and she was sick I would give her my undivided attention and take care of her the best way I can. Breakfast in bed, talk, give her a get well card, clean the house SOMETHING

I think it's a real wake up call for many women today. This problem has been going on for years and is not getting any better. There is an increasing divide between men and women - in particular, black men and women. So this is an old school approach to relationships. His concepts are not new school. This is how my father showed his love for our family so I understand it.

(cont) this is not justification to want to cheat. Just because it is natural doesn't mean it is right. A lot of people said, if there were no law enforcement, they would commit crimes all the time, but in fear of going to jail they don't. Why? Because it is natural to want to break the law, doesn't mean people should do it. Same with relationships, just because it is natural to have an urge to sleep around, doesn't mean we should act upon it

(cont) release oxytocin, the "cuddle chemical". This chemical makes two people bond, trust, love and communicate better. Oxytocin is the same chemical women release during breast feeding that gives two people the mother-child bond. Oxytocin relaxes people, lowers blood pressure as well as boost the immune system, most importantly makes them feel safe. Also, the benefit of cuddling with someone who is sick, is neural script. Subconsciously, she will remember the love of her mother that comforts

Cookie Monster is a Muppet on the long-running children's television show Sesame Street. @lalitamarie lol well I only visited Italy for a few months and I had to fly back home, but it was a great experience. My point is that not all men are the same and women just need to use their common sense. This kind of advice stuff will only get you back to square one. Been there, done that. You should never settle for second best or someone that's not going to love you completely.

I heard him talk about women needing to raise their standards and keep them high. I hear a lot of Black Women say this also in reference to demanding better from their men and not accepting anything less. However, you have to be WORTH the high standards you set. It doesn't make much sense to have a woman of low worth/value with high standards. There are too many women being allowed to get away with this and it's a big problem. M.O.B-Mind Over Body. I think it's funny how people are in denial, about how men truly are. I don't agree with everything steve is saying. But in essence he is right! Men love differently then women. Don't expect a man to love you the way it's described in some romantic novel. That's not real!! I do think he is confusing FINDING a relationship with MAINTAINING a relationship. What I do find suspect is that there is another book with the same title about the same topics by another writer( A woman)

First, the human being, him or herself. It starts within self. You gotta be right within self first before you can be right with someone else. Next, it would be the individual or (s) that that person is associating with (relationship-wise). I have seen many examples of BW with low worth/value who have high standards (the man had to be well-to-do, successful, treat her like a queen, etc etc). Look at blaqueindigo's what should women bring to the table vid. High value. Severe Poetry

I never said there was anything wrong with a woman having standards. The problem is, you have a lot of BW who subscribe to higher standards in men, when they themselves are not of that same standard (lower). To turn around what you said, BM need to pay more attention to the jokers who have those high standards because to see them at work is funnier than a Chris Rock and Martin Lawrence HBO special put together. I understand the three P's however, protecting, providing, and professing does not make you a husband or a father. It's not enough to just say that you pay the bills and that's all. Paying the bills does not make you a father.

@tshelisha we man can be superultra way too loving. But let's face it, women are much better at empathy. If you come to me with a problem, I'd hate not to be able to come up with AT THE VERY LEAST a theoretical solution. I'd also hate and be bored to death of being a shoulder to cry on. You say "I feel sad", the last you'd get from me is "I get your sadness". You'd get something in the lines of "let's do something unsadenning". Sorry. That's what we are.

Yes we are. If you look at our testes compared to our relative chimpanzee and orangutan species, the ratio of testes to body height and weight is abnormally large, suggesting our primitive ancestors slept around a lot and natural selection picked up on it. It is natural for men to have urges to sleep with multiple woman. There is virility for men who sleep around, amongst there male friends. Cheating is a choice and doesn't contradict what I said

Also Steve's assertions of "how men love" is asinine. First this isn't compartmentalizing (satire). Men should reciprocate the love women give out. Men should be nurturing and communicative. Communication is the biggest role in relationships. The "three p's" is retarded and not in our DNA. Men should hold there partner and study shows just cuddling can release high amounts of oxycotin (aka the "cuddling chemical"

@JLuvs0fficial The use of Conditional Type-II implies that you don't have a girlfriend, which means you are either way too young, gay, a woman (which would make your answer really weird) or you simply suck at picking up 'em ladies. When you DO get a girlfriend, let's see how many get well cards and breakfasts in bed you provide before the contradiction burns you from the inside.

Stick to The Family Feud,,, He is much more of an attribute there. Sorry that I clicked on this, I have now a whole different view of Steve. Too many women of today are the Real Bread Winner's today, as the Husband plays the Mom, and keeps the house clean,, as well as Playing House,, while the Wife is out Bringing Home The Bread the eat.. This is my perspective of this. Then you have the hard working man, who would do all and everything for his family, and is happy that way, with the wife being the Great Mom, and Housekeeper, and this just ruins the image of true values. Not all are as described by Steve. Not all families live the lives of Officials, and Polititions
