Very good review!!!!!!!!! I need to be able to work offline because my desktop is in my house and my shop would be outside in the house in a balcony. I do not want to move my desktop every time i want to cut something. Do you have any advice in the same price range as the Comgo z1? Thanks

Thanks! What I found, only higher priced models can work offline like the A10: kzitem.info/news/bejne/1JiozIF4pKGeino Or you can go with lower priced A5 (5W model): hobbylasercutters.com/atomstack-a5-m50-pro/ It is still quite good for cutting stuff up to 6mm thick But having computer near the machine is very nice. Maybe consider a cheap used laptop only for running the laser engraver.

@@JTMakesIt I did find and old laptop and lightburn works in it. Do you have a preference between atomstak or comgo ? what is better in terms of quality and customer service? thanks again for your comment!

@@alexherrera3918 Atomstack is sure better, but it costs much more. It depends on your budget and your needs. You can check how they both perform on the same cutting tasks here: hobbylasercutters.com/laser-reviews/

Hello nice review , as always :) ... the only "missing" thing for me , is to have it "computer free" ... such as my Longer Ray 5 ( sd card , screen ) ... Do you think I could swap the laser head of this one to put it on my Ray 5 ?
@JTMakesIt

I didn't get my hands on Ray5, so I don't know if the connector and voltage is the same. But check my video of the Atomstack A10, that one can be run standalone.

@@JTMakesIt I already saw that video on the A10 pro :) ... but it's not the same budget ! .... I think that even the price of this Cowgrow Z1 and the price of my ray 5 together is below the A10 pro ;) this Z1 10W the real output of the laser .. I suppose seeing the cut power
@JTMakesIt

@@cryoglobe it is true 10W power. I got a laser optical power measure tool and it outputs 11W of optical power.

Check the video description for a link to the written review on my website. There you will also find a review for the Neje and you can directly compare cutting performance of both machines. I have tested both

Of all these in the 5-10w diode range, which one do you recommend the most overall and why?
@JTMakesIt

Choosing the best one will heavily depend on what you mainly want to do with it and what is your budget. For example I can't say one is better than the other if the first one costs twice as more.

@@JTMakesIt good point. I will be using it mostly for medium volume runs cutting corrugated cardboard for shipping and custom packaging. Also some engraving and fun hobby projects. Any suggestions based on this? Thank you!

@@EEZYEEEE Hi, then I would recommend you a 10W machine. Comgrow Z1, Sculpfun S10 or the Atomstack A10 or if you have a larger budget, then the XTool. If you have a very tight budget then the Sculpfun S9(5W) would also work well. I have made reviews for all of them. Watch my other videos or check the review articles on hobbylasercutters.com and decide what is the best for you.

@@JTMakesIt excellent, thank you! I like what I see so far with the comgrow z1 10w but a little concerned about the “wobbly” lines due to the square laser shape per your review. Is this pretty common with this class of lasers? It might be pixel peeping but just want to make sure I get a good quality engraving when I need to. Also, I’m looking at the Comgrow kit which includes the laser cover, rotary tool, and honeycomb but in all honesty, are those really necessary? I can see the rotary coming in handy and maybe the honeycomb might be required (?) but what’s your take on the cover? I will definitely use your link and coupon to purchase btw!
@JTMakesIt

@@EEZYEEEE the cover is necessary if you use the laser in a room that you also do other stuff. Laser engraving produces a lot of smoke and odors especially with woods and plastics. The fumes are not good for your health. Using the cover you can direct the fumes out of the room. Otherwise rhe room will be filled with smoke. The wobbly lines are very small and mostly visible under microscope. If you don't plan to engrave really small text and patterns ( under 2mm) it is perfectly fine. Honeycomb is great if you don't want to get smoke stains on the bottom side of the wood you are cutting. But if you plan to upgrade it with an air assist then the honeycomb is almost necessary or the pieces will be blown away by the air.(check my Sculpfun S10 video)
