Impressed again on your sawing skills, and am beginning to understand better how you control the tree with the notch and then essentially the well-placed plunge cuts. All with extreme knowledge of where that saw cut is at all times and reading the lean of the tree. Excellent and impressive.

Try haste makes waste, and always follow the 6 P's rule. Proper planning prevents piss poor preformance. I kinda added the 6th one in, and I probably don't have to tell you which one that was either I'll bet. The rule has worked for me since the days of my apprenticeship back in the mid 70's. Sure there is always exceptions to every rule, but let someone else be the one who screws things up, but always have a secondary plan for such times as that, and they'll happen, but keep to your plan. Never let someone push you into rushing your job, because haste does make waste. The ole story about the hare, and the tortoise works out just like the story goes 9.99 times outta 10 too. Soo don't let no one fool you into thinking otherwise either. Truth. Nuthin but the truth Nutz

Pete… I have some oaks that hold their leaves all winter. More so on the white oaks (post oak, shummard and Turkey) than in the red oaks. However, blackjack is one that holds them. I’ve been curious as to why also. I mean, the same tree might hold its leaves one year and shed them the next. Beats me! Loved the slow-mo of the incident. It shows just how much happened in just a split second! Glad you’re safe bud!
