Now just imagine this movie being filmed from a different perspective. Imagine if In this movie you had a woman get drugged snd raped and then her husband not only blames her but he then becomes best friends with her rapist. What would the reaction be? The snowflakes would be in uproar. Personally I’m not outraged by the storyline, I didn’t even think about it I’m not a snowflake but after watching it with a friend, he then said “imagine if the roles were reversed, what reaction would this movie be getting?”. It is an interesting point.

Part of what made the first film funny is that 2 guys from an african kingdom who know nothing but riches and wealth have come to america and immediately hit with the harshness of the real world. The second they leave the airport they called a dumb fuck and the second they find somewhere to stay they get robbed blind. By centralising the film in an environment that the characters are already familiar with, a lot of the humour is lost.

Leslie Jones is a modern day Mammy. She plays the loud, stupid, usually uneducated black person that shouts catchphrases in every movie. It's racist af. It doesn't matter if she is black or not. She perpetuates that stereotype just like Amos & Andy (TV show) or a black vaudeville comedian eating watermelon and speaking improperly. Except it's literally 90 years later and she's playing that same character. Are you a white dude and want to put something super racist in your movie? Just have a black person say it and it's not anymore! This movie was literally written by 3 white dudes in their 60's and 70's.
