You didn't run through the vines Bill, you ran through the corn in the "Field of Dreams". I would love to meet you and talk White Sox baseball and Comiskey park, I could talk Sox baseball all day and night. I am 73 years old and have been a huge Sox fan since I was 10 in 1956. I live 135 miles straight west of Chicago in Northwest Illinois, 15 miles from the Mississippi river In Iowa but went to hundreds of games in that old park . I had a season ticket plan when the Sox won the division in 1983 . Our seats were a few rows over the wall where Al Smith got his beer bath. I have so many Sox stories that you wouldn't believe some of them but they are for real. thanks for sharing this video, I loved that park, in a way it was my second home.

Great Video. Saw Kittle hit a roof shot at a night game right where the guy was pointing between the scoreboard and over the left field roof. Just sailed off into the night, no idea where it landed, Seemed like it flew forever. Never forget it, #42!

That park was a shining cathedral as beautiful as an Orthodox church. It's a damn shame 😡 it was torn down.

I know they had already torn down half of old Comisky here but I’ve Noticed how once teams leave a stadium they don’t even mow the grass and just let it grow into this.

As a Sox fan, I hated to see old Comiskey go, but if it took a new ballpark to keep the Sox in Chicago, then so be it
@bmla88
Great video. It was the 1918 world series and the Cubs lost to the red sox

When I was a kid bill veck gave us free tickets..at our school in Hinsdale he gave each of us kids a pair for the out field seats..in person..he lived in Hinsdale il. There a park named after him ..ball fields. Veck park. Along the trip state toll way..in hinsdale..he would bring his car in for a car wash ..on sundays in the early 1970s....have a cup of coffee. And. .b.s. with my dad..he as I recall as a kid was a color full guy..those were the days..miss the old park..these new parks are stiral..cant beat old school baseball..

The Original Comiskey Park should have never been destroyed.

His intentions are good, but he is wrong on a lot of things. But I did love going to the old park and sitting alongside the wall in the lower left field stands. I was there on Bat Day 1972 with 51,000 fans when Allen hit the famous game winning , pinch hit homer off Lyle in the second game. Allen's home run was a moon shot, not a liner. Just like his roof shot off of Cuellar.

I would have done a lot more walking around inside. Been up in the stands, consession areas etc. By the way Comiskey Park opened in 1910, not 1907. And the Cubs had thier own park by 1915!

I can almost picture shoeless joe jackson emerging from the weeds.
