Great video and I’m very jealous of your collection. Just because you set the challenge, my attempt at the deliberate mistakes is below: The A1200 processor was 68020 not 040. It ran at 14 MHz not 25 mhz You show the PCMCIA slot taking a compact flash card via an adapter, but refer to an SD card It was not the first machine to have AGA as stated, as it was released after the A4000 And so in A4000 section, that was not the 3rd Amiga of the year CD32 had double not single speed CD player I was thinking that the A3000 section says it 1mb chip ram when it had 2mb RAM. But I think it’s right that 1mb was assigned as chip RAM so thats probably not be a mistake. Thanks for sharing your amazing collection

The Amiga 1000 was presented at CES in January 1984, the release party on the 23rd of July 1985 was in NYC. The Commodore logo and name on the front of the Amiga 1000 aren't originally there. The A1200 has a 68EC020 CPU.

@@commodorecave5581 I will also add another mistake, probably not deliberate though and is more of a technicality than anything and that is imo the CD32 was the first TRUE 32bit console. The FM Towns MARTY was only sold in Japan but more importantly was not true 32bit, it had a 386SX CPU which has a 16bit data bus, the CD32 was full 32bit.

Great video Graham and a nice collection of Amigas you have. My first ever computer was an Amiga 500, which I sold and then got an Amiga 2000 which I managed to spend alot of $$$ on and add alot of goodies to. GVP 030 accelerator and ram expansion. GVP SCSI card with a massive for the day 50meg hard drive. CD Rom Drive. OpalVision 24bit Graphics card. Flicker fixer and a multisync monitor. Had heaps of Productivity software too much to mention. Lastly I also had the CD32, which looking back I regret selling, sold after Commodore went bust. Thankfully I did not sell my Amiga 2000, which still works and which I have recently spend more $$$ on to be able to use it.

Although interestingly, the badge on that one suggests that it has a hard drive. This badge ends in "40"; if that's an official badge and not something some clever person managed to make themself (looks very smart!), I think the 40 might refer to the hard disk size, because there is no way desktop A1200s were ever sold with 68040s in them.

Even if you're not going to use it, I would definitely do that if you haven't already - every Amiga I've had from this era has had issues with its capacitors leaking, and I wouldn't want to see that pristine board damaged while in storage!

You would think most people would have wanted more expandability, but seems most were really wanting software which is why the Amiga 500 was so popular at the time.. I think CDTV was too early for its time... Funny though..,. today, we got "exactly" that... Apple TV playing games on our TV.. The only thing lacking is a wee browser, which i think Ninety briefly did.with the Wii???? Also, dunno why the Amiga 1200 was better when you'r facing compatibility issues. The only think that made it better arguely was the HD and AGA graphics..

@daishi5571

@@gleggett3817 Unfortunately retro hardware needs a bit of TLC to keep it working. Fortunately there are people that can do the job or at least can help mitigate any issues. Just get them looked at ASAP as that will reduce any problems. It's really not that hard but needs to be dealt with. My A1200 was at my parents (in the UK) for almost 20 years before they brought it too me in the US. While the caps were bulging there was no damage, and while my battery on the accelerator had started to leak no permanent damage was done. Hope your systems are in good condition.

The FM Towns Marty was not an actual 32 bit system
@commodorecave5581
3 жыл бұрын
Well its debatable depending on the definition of what a 32 bit machine is. Marty came with a 68000 processor that is internally 32-bit, but it only has a 16-bit data bus.
@daishi5571
2 жыл бұрын
@@commodorecave5581 You meant that the Marty has a 386SX which is 32 bit internal with 16 bit bus. If that counts as a 32 bit system, then all Amigas from the beginning were 32 bit. The 68000 was 32 bit internal with a 16 bit bus. And no I don't count all Amigas as being 32 bit.
