There are reasons why there are no hexlers in the drain in Germany. 1. Our waste water is treated again, if there are too many food residues, then the cleaning effort is very high, 2. it attracts vermin such as rats, 3. we compost our kitchen waste, there is very nutrient-rich soil.

,,Some cops will try to plant stuff in your vehicle,, Yes that's one point why you should be very nervous. That's not normal. They try to make you guilty of something you didn't even commit. What's the point of that? 😅

I am living in Bremen, Germany - that´s the same lattitude as Lake Winnipeg in Canada. It´s cold enought here so we don´t need AC most of the time but stone walls. 😁

The reason for AC in the USA is ... TERRIBLE BUILDINGS! *Building a house out of WOOD is CHEAP ... but WOOD HAS NO COOLING EFFECT.* Bricks (and if you have to be boring ... reinforced concrete) are COOL and in sufficient thickness they insulate against heat AND cold, but that would be more expensive to build.

There are cops on highways (Autobahn) in Germany. But usually they don't drive obvious police cars, they drive "undercover" normal cars. And they don't wait beside, they drive with the flow. So you never recognise them before they actually stop you.

I got pulled over by the police in Germany at night. They do that sporadicly, esp on weekends to catch drunken drivers and stuff. It's not really scary and kind of relaxed. The Police may have guns here but they are not trigger happy and they also won't lay you flat even if you are rude. They can fine you and yell at you but most of the time that's all. They can take your keys if you're not supposed to drive. If they arrest you, it's because you had a warrant on you or have illegal stuff in your car and are a flight risk. But I've also seen the videos of police stops in the US and I tell you, it's vastly different even if you do what the Police tells you to do.... It comes off as way more tense.

I ventilate my apartment every day (open all the windows), but the fact that flies constantly come into my apartment is actually not the case. If flies/insects are really a problem, for example because you live by a lake or the edge of a forest, then of cause I would install fly screens.

The thing about AC is: You only really need AC if your houses aren't properly built and insulated.

I don't think there is much garbage disposal outside of the USA. Mostly forbidden.

In Germany, only fifteen days a year reach 85° Fahrenheit. Basically, you don't need air conditioning in Germany. However, there was a summer of heat in 2003 in which tens of thousands of people died in France, which lies further south. Mobile air conditioners and even fans were sold out in Europe at the time. That's why I bought a mobile air conditioning unit for my bedroom in 2004. And used it for maybe 10 weeks in 19 years. When the temperature in the bedroom was above 75° Fahrenheit.

These police checks like in the USA also exist in the southern countries of the EU, but as Feli said, they don't exist in Germany, only on the border of Bavaria and Austria. However, not for speed measurements, but for illegal border crossings.

WTF, dips for pizza? Why the god damn hell would you need a dip!? The sauce should already be on the pizza to begin with ... Speed traps got quite expensive ... had to pay 178€ for being 27km/h faster than allowed cause that bastards planted their trap in a 70 zone which was in a corner with a couple of trees to hide in on the right side of the street.. While right before the corner, the road had 2 lanes and was a 100km/h zone ... fu*king cops always chose places where they can rip you off, as if driving wasn't already expensive enough in Germany....

In Germany you can buy the “Ranch” dressing in the delicatessen departments of some supermarkets. But the brand name is no longer protected in Germany. That's why there are now many similar dressings that come from the USA, but also many European brands, with the same ingredients.

I just got new windows throughout the house this summer and got bug screens for many (but not all) rooms as I have a real hate relationship with mosquitos and want to keep spiders out while airing rooms at night……
