5:13 this “dust” phenomenon has been plaguing me forever! I never understood why it looked like bubbles or dust in my polish. I’ve always thought you were supposed to put a thin layer of gel. Thank you!

Wow what a huge eye opener! I've always used 180 to file my gel since I started years ago not realizing it was actually a buffer?? Like whattt!! But I see soo many other techs using it for gel because they say gel is so easy to file and thats all it needs and one nail tech just told me for gel when you buff it creates more scratches in the nails and helps gel to adhere so I get so confused. Ive also asked some others and they said they had no lifting issues with their gel nails and buffing but since I have always had my top coat lifting at the cuticle I followed all of Tracy's recommendations for my last set and hopefully it helps. Also I've learned that no wipe top coat has a different chemical formula than the wipe off top coat so it needs extra help adhering (protein bond) Another thing I was using non acetone to wipe off my inhibition layers so ive stopped that. There are so many factors when you run into problems that you have to consider its definitely a learning experience so thank you for all the nail education you share!

Omg!!! Waiting for this video. I remember Tracey talks about this one the biz talk but the video is so much detail and I love when you guys show the DONT and DO ... I am a visual learner. I also have a question... do you need to top coat the nails when you use the paints ? I have YN paints (I love them so much) but don't know why looks like the top coat is shrink on top of the cure gel paint ...

I’m a beginner / self taught, but I usually never had issues with chipping or peeling polish on acrylic (due to watching your videos 😘). Recently though, after listening to someone’s advice on YT, I wiped down my acrylic nails with acetone after filing then forgot about it. My polish has been chipping and I had no idea why until I watched this video and remembered! Never doing that again!

Very helpful information, thank you so much! I have problem with chipping but only when I use chameleon chrome nail powder and not to all nails. With gel polish I have never had any problems unless if it is bad quality but with chrome powder it is always chipping at the corners of the free edge. I never buff or put oils or even swipe, I file with 180 file and remove the dust. I did my nails on tuesday with chrome powder and already I have chipping on two nails. Any suggestions what I am doing wrong? Thank you!

I figured out that if I put protein bond on before polish and before top coat I never get chipping. Also if i am using chromes I lightly put on protein bond on top of the chrome and so far no chipping. I used to get chipping of the top coat within a week when I used chrome.

I have a client who uses harsh cleaning chemicals on a daily basis & she never wears gloves. Is it safe to say she will always have chipping? I always gel polish her enhancements and within a week at least 3 of her nails are stripped of the gel polish.

Now what about if you put the Dehydrator bonder, no base code, then polish , then topcoat, would that be fine .im Cosmetologist I’ve always done acrylic nails since I was 12. I’m barely, jumping into gel nails. gel nails never have interest me since I’m so fond of acrylic but I started wearing jewelry on my nails and I’ve noticed that gel nail polishes work better with the gel glue when you put the jewels on so now I want to start doing gel refills until My said it’s completely all gel 🤪 I had done a beautiful art on my nails a day ago and I wash dishes the water was pretty hot and a lot of my nail polish started peeling off … i used to love buff to where they would be very glossy, now I only do that when I wear them natural but I still remove the line so I’ll stop doing that. Thank you for that. My husband was telling me not to do that as well. He knows so much nail stuff through me and hair stuff lol.

Protein bond does not take the place of the base coat. If your gel polish says you need one, then you should use one.

I see in your videos you use protein bond alot and to me it seems like you use it at the stages when others would use base coat? I you base coat then polish then top coat should I be roughing up the base coat before putting polish on? Do you have a video that shows the steps using base, polish and top coat application?
@youngnailsinc

Protein bond doesn't replace base coat in services that require it like a gel manicure, hard gel extensions, etc. The times we use when you don't need a base coat are wither with acrylics, or on top of an enhancement because the enhancement acts as the base not protein bond replacing the base. Hope that makes sense! kzitem.info/news/bejne/2aGh3n1pfnufYIo

@@ngnailtattoostudioandacade9759 with some brands it’s the same thing but I think there are brands who refer to a dehydrator as a primer. Dehydration is important but it doesn’t create adhesion like a bonding product does. I hope that makes sense
