Wow, I noticed these particles when speaking to my Chinese friends, and I began using them in my sentences to make them look more natural instead of basic sentences. I had no idea of what most of them really insinuated or meant, I just put one on the end and if it "felt right" I would use it that way. I'm amazed at how accurate I actually was after watching this!

Thanks so much!! Final particles are some of the most elusive and slippery aspects of the language (other than 嗎of course, that's straightforward). It feels like a bit more of an art than a science at times, and when you venture a guess and get it wrong, it sticks out like a sore thumb. I would almost think of 語助詞 as colors that you can add to the sentence, rather than something that strictly follows certain sentences or patterns. For instance, after watching a ton of 小明星大跟班, I started to pick up the habits of the female guests, at which point I realized it was time to start watching more male-focused content....

Thank you so much for this video, other than "ma" and some cases for "ba", I've always been confused on how to use some of these sentence ending words. Very helpful explanations! If possible, in the future, an idea for a video may be some common measure words that are important to learn. I think a lot of us learn some like specifics like "ben" for books or "jian/tiao/shuang" for clothes but then just use "ge" for everything else when we shouldn't do that XD That would be very helpful!

How did you learn to speak English so well? You used the word “inkling” and I was impressed. Still, one would not say “have an inkling in your mind” because it is unnecessary or redundant to say “in your mind.” It is understood, without saying, because the mind is the only place you can have an “inkling.” This was a good lesson because I used “a” to tell someone “ni hao diao a” (a phrase learned from you) but I didn’t know why the “a” was there at the end. By the way, my friend was impressed and very amused that I used that phrase so thanks!!!
@TheMgamesM
4 жыл бұрын
If you say you have an inkling in your mind you are emphasizing that its just a trace of a memory, which is what she was going for. Its not redundant because the usage of 吧 wouldn't make sense if you just say something that is on your mind as opposed to something that you have an inkling of in your mind

I dont think that is a typo, because "他" can be used all kind of gender. (When you're not sure of a person's gender. You can just use"他") "她" this word was invented when the English was introduced into the Chinese language area. before that, we use the word "他" for all genders. Sorry if my English is weird.I'm still learn it.

As a Chinese, I should point out a serious problem. In Chinese, the pronunciation of "x, q, j" are [ɕ], [t͡ɕʰ] and [t͡ɕ]. But you always pronounce them in a strange way, like [s], [t͡sʰ] and [t͡s] or something else. For a instance, the "學" was pronounced as [ʂɥɛ] (like shue) by you. If you want to teach Chinese, the first step is the pronunciation.
