Te’s an adapter you can get to refill from a 9kg bottle, you need to put the small canister in the freezer for a bit to be able fill the, up. Cheap enough to buy.

In the states, we call these 1lb propane tanks and are sold by Coleman. Two companies make refillable tanks and filling jigs, flame king and Mr heater. The Mr heater fuel keg just came out and looks easier/safer but I haven’t seen enough reviews to know it’s good. You should be able to import either one, empty of fuel. You would need source tanks with compatible acme fittings. 20lb tanks are the standard ‘large’ tank here, providing 15-20 refills per.

Thanks for watching. There are cheaper alternatives out now for the gas bottles but I have a feeling that it's still not recommended to refill them. I'll take a look at the Mr Heater fuel keg, thanks for the heads up.

At 1:03 I think the word you were trying to think of was "Interchange" for a mini fuel tank that can be used with a number of other things. Second.... Try this idea.... Instead of turning on the water and waiting for it to warm up, causing you to waste a lot of water, stick the shower head into the bucket or container where your water is coming from, so you're basically recycling the water until it heats up.
@ChaseTheWeekend

Thanks, yeah normally you would just recirculate the water, if possible to do so, but the unit does heat up the water pretty quick anyway and the flow can be turned down. The amount of water lost is minimal but yes if you were in a very remote place you'd want to minimise water lost but in that situation you probably would forgo having hot showers every night anyway. Thanks for watching.

I have just used mine for the first time on the weekend and worked great...apart from the leaking fitting! You can buy a fitting that suits a 9kg bottle and decant into the smaller one. I haven't bought that yet but looked into it awhile ago to use on a babyQ. I have a similar fitting that i decant gas from the cheap butane bottles to the jet boil smaller canisters...works great.

From over the dich I've just purchased the aquaheat Lithium gas shower and I got the companion outdoor shower stand, I also own two Coloman hot water on demand systems. Over the two the colomans will heat up to 71•C before it cut out and will restart when the water temperature drops to 49•C. The down side with the Coleman is the battery is only 6V battery. As for the companion Aquaheat I agree the 12 volt battery system is better just the water cuts out at about 51•C which is not so hot in my opinion.

Yeah not sure, possibly freight from Australia to US (or China US), maybe even a lack of direct competition as there are no similar products, currency exchange fees, not too sure. You could contact them direct and see what they say, might offer you a discount.

So you need to use the battery and the gas bottle then? Is the battery replaceable? Like if you had a spare fully charged battery because you have no access to power, is it possible to swap out the dead battery for the spare?
@ChaseTheWeekend
Жыл бұрын
G'day, not sure the battery is changeable in those. It doesn't appear to be accessible unless you take the unit apart. The battery should last about 5 hours, it's only used for the pump and display and the igniter, so if the average shower while camping is 5 minutes then that's about 60 showers. It can be charged by the 12v ciga socket. We've used the unit with it plugged in to the car and also from the internal battery. Thanks for watching!
