Yep and from this cut you can see all the years of practice & experience it took to come up with the sound on funcrusher plus, his FIRST commercial album after the better part of a decade on the scene. Now just imagine a novice producer or novice MC thinking they can replicate the run the jewels sound...
@finkployd6110
4 жыл бұрын
@@Luhnchboks I think it's better for El's career that this record remained obscure, since he says "color me the chubby nigga" (the uploader of this video censored it, but he says it blatantly on the single, there's an uncensored version on KZitem with way less views.) Considering that Funcrusher Plus is a cult classic, if this track was on it El-P would likely come under fire nowadays from the mainstream for something he wrote 26 years ago.

Word the fuck up! Why is it that the Golden Age Hip-Hop blogosphere (unkut.com, complex etc) community is so down on El-P? It just seems like it's cool to take shots at the guy, shots at Def Jux....I know a couple of friends who've met him as fans and said he was a bit of a dick, but you can't judge a guy on like a two-minute meeting, can you?!?
