Hello sir, excellent comparison. I have to ask, the 60nm b2 drill had issues with fast repeating the trigger, it could not keep up with a fast trigger. Does the a1 80nm suffer the same slow trigger? U did not mention this thats why i ask. Will there be a b2 vs c2 60nm drill comparison? I am waiting for 2 c2 drills wich i orderd from german lidl. 50 euro good deal. My b2 sufferd from this slow trigger wich made it feel like a cheaptoy😢.

Would you know how to make adjusting the torque easier on the first version? Adjusting torque is very difficult and switching to hammer nearly impossible. Tried opening it but can’t see how that works. Was hoping to find some dirt. Nice explanation, now still trying to get it back toghether.

Bought B2 week ago, waited for B2 because of A1 delayed start at every swich press (which is pain for A1 owners I think). Good to see there are no downgrades at the parts you've shown. Do you expect no changes also on the second part you did not dissassemble? Thanks and Subscribed your channel!.

Thanks for the reply, the HD version is still processing so any details will be much better to see then. It's difficult to show the small pieces as zooming the camera isn't an option, so I have to bring them in close, plus I have to disassemble them, so I don't really have a good way of keeping them still on a surface for better viewing. If you have any questions about how specific things go together I'd be happy to explain. Cheers!

Those two thick wires going into the switch would typically be a mechanical BAT+ disconnect. It's a safety measure that's there in case the control MOSFET fails in a way that would leave it permanently on (and thus make the motor spin), you can still turn it off just by lettting go of the trigger. With the B2, if control mosfets break down and leave the motor spinning, all you can do is remove the battery. That has the potential to get ugly, when the B2 claims to have 80 Nm of torque (if true, that's nearing into the wrist breaking territory) and no kickback control, if mosfets break down at the same time when a drill bit binds up in some very tough material (not an impossible thing to happen, since at that time current draw would be at it's highest and RPM very low, thus little or no colling from the rotor fan), it leave make the whole machine rotating around it's axis until the battery runs out. It appears the B2 version has undergone some cost cutting therapy (the smaller heatsink, solid wires that are cheaper than stranded wires, the switch on the A1 would be a lot more expensive when besides modulating the mosfets, it also has to disconnect full power from battery (hence the 15A rating vs 0.2A)

Agree with you there, but the switch is really weird, I took it apart further, maybe you'll see it in a future video, there are actually two mechanical switches in parallel, one closes as soon as you touch the trigger, the other one when depressed ~50%. They could have just made both actuate at the same time, doesn't really make a difference to 'reduce' impedance when at high power, and even the single contact is plenty to run full current, as the switch never cuts current, unless of course your MOSFET failure situation occurs.

@@GadgetEngineering it's possible the first set of contacts only turns on the LED light, and the latter is for the motor circuit.

That's what I figure, the hardened pins will grind away the surrounding walls. Still with 6 pins it seems stout enough for not too aggressive tightening of the chuck under normal use? Have you had this tool fail to lock?

I bought this mainly for the hammer option as my hammer drill is the lowest entry one that sold for 25€. Big mistake... The hammer option is useless for my apartment concrete (which i assume is reinforced concrete) i can't even get one hole done. And as far as the locking issue my situation is reversed, my bits lock in so hard i need a wrench to remove the bits. Which is one of the reasons i couldn't return because i ended up scratching the chuck when i removed the bit that i couldn't remove simply by hand. Waste of money because i already have the smaller drill driver so i didn't need this much heavier and uncomfortable drill for driving i needed a hammer drill 😔
@AtanasPaunoff

🤣🤣🤣 Very nice explanation, but the fun part is that you say you bought this to drill into concrete 🤣🤣🤣 Whit what in mind did you do that ? Everyone knows that drilling in stone, concrete and any similar is done only with ( here in Bulgaria we call it "perforator" ) rotary hammer, you name it... Seems you just had a wrong approach at first so it is obvious how it will end ;)

@GadgetEngineering

That's what I figure, they all buy in the BLDC motors from one company, you can see it with the impacts, both the 1/4" and 1/2", all have the max torque specified as 226Nm and 1356Nm respectively (Makita, Dewalt, Milwaukee...). Nice to know Parkside is at the leading edge with the rest of them, at a much better pricepoint.
