@@Toyotajeff same here, sir. That's why I went with 2017 TRD Off-Road with premium package. It's got everything what Pro has except Pro skid plate and FOX shocks. However, with the amount of money that I was able to save with going with Off-Road trim (almost $7K) over Pro I can get whole lot more than just Pro skid plate and FOX shocks. When I was getting my Off-road dealership was asking $45,xxx for Pro whereas my Off-Road with premium package cost $39,xxx. Pro is good, but not as much for that price what Toyota is asking. In my opinion, Off-Road trim is the way to go.

I paid 33k for my 2016 TRD Sport Double Cab V6 Manual 4x4. Looks like the prices went up and only thing I see different is power sliding rear window and a sensor on the front grille. Power sliding rear window would be nice, but not a game changer. I have no idea what the front sensor does but my truck is fine without it. Toyota should offer less tech options and more options like lift kits, AT tires, lockers, superchargers, and maybe a diesel w/manual.

Chris prices on trucks are reflected by the crude oil market. The higher gas prices are, the cheaper trucks will get.
@Chris-gt7ob
5 жыл бұрын
@@kroozctrl6284 I respectfully disagree. While the market for crude is one of very many factors to the US auto market, it does not have a direct correlation. If the price of crude increases, it does not make it cheaper to manufacture a truck. There is a somewhat complex correlation between crude and steel, however I would argue that labor and R&D for safety, technology, and emissions is a larger portion of the cost to produce a truck.

Chris my work customer says other wise just saying. That customer is solar turbines. And they are ramping up next year. And based on the pattern and working relation of my current company, there is a huge correlation factor. My company has had a manufacturing relation with them for over 25 years.
@Chris-gt7ob
5 жыл бұрын
@@kroozctrl6284 An increase in the price of crude could trigger a reduction in automotive sales. At which point automotive manufacturers are likely to respond with "rebates" to supplement sales. However, an increase in crude simply does not result in a decrease in the raw materials to manufacture an automobile. Therefore, any "savings" on the purchase of such automobile is likely the result of some form of quantitative easing, not the overall reduction in cost to manufacture such automobile. I think at this point we can just agree to disagree. Nonetheless, I am glad to hear business is well and I wish you the best of luck with your future business endeavors.

Great Job! Just a comment, there's no excuse for not having intermittent wipers! Vehicles as far back as 1973, had intermittent wipers.. probably even before that. That's the earliest I specifically remember. I bought a 2019 SR, 4dr, with a Protection Package.. had the Predator step rails. Nice truck. One thing I highly recommend is installing sound deadening. I did the 4 doors, and back wall. It dropped the cab noise level, by 7db. I was able to drop the stereo volume substantially, because it wasn't battling road noise. You can have a conversation like sitting in your living room. And that's on higher noise rural roads. Love my Tacoma!

If you thinking of getting a new Toyota Tacoma this guy explains this good. I think you pay way to much on the TRD model for the extra features the SR are great if you use it as a work truck only, the SR5 v6 4x4 witch I got is the best one for what I use it for. And if you got money to burn the TRD sport,pro, and unlimited is for you. Rule of thumb just get the one that suits your needs.

Thanks for the great video Jeff. On my neck of the woods, nothing is added by the distributors, which who cares. However, I know this is not under your control, but the price on the items added by Southeast Toyota Distributor seems way steep. The USB ports already come with the upper-trim trucks at least, so they're charging $189 for a couple of USB cables (which are obsolete with standard Bluetooth and Wireless charging anyway). All-weather mats are $169 from the Toyota site, much cheaper elsewhere, they're charging $329. The paint protection price is steep as well. The step bar price is not horrible though. BTW, The Limited and TRD Pro have a sunroof, and auto headlamps standard BTW, but no big deal that you missed that.

@@rustyshackleford932 The numbers look impressive but the real world performance of the new 3.5 Atkins cycle engine is lackluster at best. I happen to have a FJ Cruiser (identical powertrain to the 2014 and older Tacomas) and a good friend of mine has a 2016 TRD off road with the newer 3.5L. My rig pulls better, tows better and accelerates harder from a stand still, and while he might have a small edge in freeway acceleration he only gets about 1 mpg better than I do. That 4.0 VVTI was just a good robust engine with lot's of low end torque. So if you're trying to get good fuel economy a smaller engine trying to do the same amount of work as a larger engine will use the roughly the same amount of fuel because ultimately you can only squeeze so much energy out of a given amount of fuel, you'll just have to beat the smaller engine alot more. So while I love Toyota's I think it was a mistake going to a smaller higher compression engine along with many other people I know that use their Tacos for work that went from the older 4.0 VVTI to the new 3.5 Atkins 🤗

Make a Tacoma with a 4.6 V8 option and I'd buy one. That V6 is terribly lacking in power. The driver seat needs to be adjustable for height too. I'm only 6'0 and find the fixed height seat position in these to be too low to be comfortable.

Just unbelievable how much these “mid size” trucks cost. Might as well go for a full size??
