Lets not forget the load box also effects the tone of the amp. I'd say more so than amp/tube variance.

Mendel I must say this is my favorite channel man. Your content is always incredible and inspiring! It’s obvious that you put a lot of time and effort in to your work. I watch and listen in my studio and it blows me away how talented you are as a musician/mixer/MIDI programmer and songwriter you’re productions really stand out from all the rest in my opinion. Thank you for this channel and all your hard work, believe me it does not go unnoticed.

The XXX is my favorite amp I have owned. The Crunch channel is WAY better for metal rhythm tone than the Ultra Channel with an OD in front. Definitely an amp I wish I had never gotten rid of.

When i was younger, i used to dream of saving enough money to buy these amps. Now i can get a plugin that sounds extremely close without having to pay so much money. Of course if i had a lot of money i would still get the real amp.

I love this plugin. I prefer other IRs, but when I just want to quickly hop in my DAW and jam some modern metal riffs, I run the direct amp signal from the Josh Middleton Tonality into some custom IRs, and, IMO, it nails exactly what I want out of a boosted 5150 tone. It also sounds really good for liquid leads even without a boost. In the comparison here, I actually prefer the plugin. It's closer to a polished usable tone in the mix right away. The 5150 would need more highs and some sculpting, but, really, the minor differences you hear here could easily be compensated for by just using different IRs and EQ settings to get either the amp or plugin more in line with personal tastes.

I bought this plug-in the day it released. I’m a fan of Josh and knew the plug-in was going to be amazing. In a mix you can’t tell the difference between this plug-in or a real amp. It’s so good. Also the Mike Stringer plug-in by Mixwave.

I find the plugins always have this thing in the high frequencies, with all developers. Brighter than real amps or more linear. in the freq response...

Triple XXX is tricky because has active eq, so small adjustments have a huuge impact on the sound. I sold mine days ago, prefer KT77/EL34s over 6L6s on that amp, but I love my 6505 and 6505+ the most.

Someone just suggested on one of your videos the Revalver suit and in there is some Eq tone matching that would be the perfect comparison i know you had the ears of beethoven but that would be the best comparison on a Eq
@joejohnson8966

Extremely close. Listening to it while doing other things the main thing was that the Tonality was often brighter which could be a good thing. Focusing I can hear the difference but I think the software is WELL worth it. 5:55 great that a channel recommends the cheaper option.

One has to wonder how their Meridian 65 amp holds up against both. I'd have to guess The Middleton 6505 and Meridian 65 probably sound identical 🤔
@PippPriss
Жыл бұрын
They do not, because Josh Middletons is slightly modded. That said, the Meridian 65 sounds awesome, I like it more than the Meridian 65 Plus which has been recently introduced. I once on my channel made a comparison between a resonance modded Bugera 6262, which seems to have a bit more gain on tap than the regular 5150 MKII, and compared it to the Meridian 65, they sounded REALLY close. In a mix I could not tell the difference.

Amp is Amp bro! Plugin can never replace the taste of the original amp! 😅
Talkin' about the Recto, I'm pretty sure has a Multiwatt, I owned a 2000 Dual, a 2003 Triple and a 2019 Multiwatt and the 2000 and the Multiwatt were the best sounding Rectos I've ever tried. The Multiwatt has more mids, it's tighter and less boomy compared to the old 3 channel Rectifiers from 2001 until 2009.

It feels like if you add the name of a famous guitarist to any plugin, then everyone will start talking about what sounds like a real amplifier. I can clearly hear the difference. This plugin sounds cheap. I'm not one of those who hates digital plugins. There are Helix, ToneX, Neural DSP that sound so that you really can't tell the difference from the real ones in the mix. This plugin is just a hyped buzzer.
@justsomerandomguyman

Yeah, definitely wrong. This plugin nails the 5150 tone better than any other on the market. Better than the Neural DSP 5150 emulations, which are already pretty good.
