I’d laugh at the MTI’s at USAFA having already been through BMT, not that I wouldn’t take it seriously. Just having to go through that shit again is funny.

Seems like a pretty accurate description. I'd say that all basic training programs are a mental shock. It really depends on which one is your first. Getting through the day is a whole lot easier as soon as you learn how to "flip the switch". Cool videos, man. Keep up the good work.

Matt Shisler definitely. If you can’t “turn it on, or off” life gets 10x harder.

Hey man i have a question. I wanna join the AF and do a maintenance career. Then after the AF, i plan on getting a job at Boeing or any other Aircraft companies. But i heard a lot that maintenance is incredibly hard, and mistreated. Working long hours on many days and being disrespected alot. Is this true?

Hey man, I used to be a cruise missile maintainer. I would expect to work a 40-50 hours depending on your shop. Maintenance is the one of the more difficult career fields mainly because of the amount of work. Once the job is done you’re done. With that being said, if the work doesn’t get done by Friday you’re working the weekend. As for working for someone like Boeing, that will require you to not only excel in your maintenance job, but get an engineering degree (aerospace probably) and then make connections with people who work for those companies. I’d say the hardest part is being such a good maintainer and worker that they offer you the ability to go on trips to locations with Boeing engineers. Overall definitely possible, but you better be willing to work your ass off. It’s gonna suck but be worth it. Good luck man!

Avionics is the hardest in the maintenance field and honestly if you pass AVF or avionics fundamentals your good and follow on is fake

Hey quick question so how is the whole overall process different for people going in as Pj,CCT,Tacp, etc?
@nicksowerbutts158

A little late but here’s how it goes for Special Warfare jobs. After basic you’ll go to SW prep, then onto 4 weeks of A&S (PJ, CCT, SR/SOWT) or the TACP schoolhouse. For the three that go to A&S, they will attend pre dive before going on to dive school and then the rest of the pipeline. I’m not as familiar with TACP.

Can you please explain to me your process from being enlisted into going into the prep school? I recently just enlisted into the airforce reserve and always dreamed about going to the academy, can you please help me out and let me know how that process went and what I need to do.
