Currently 3d printing my own tower as I watch this. I chose to 3d print instead of buy a premade system because in theory it would be cheaper and maintenance would be easier.. And if a part breaks, I can print another. Although I plan to coat it in food grade epoxy resin to prevent leaks and fungi which was expensive.

Would like to see how that turns out. Also, I would like to know the pros and cons. Sounds quite cool. If you have some novel designs, you may have a new business.

This video is super helpful! I appreciate your analysis. I'm in a much different climate zone here in Arizona, but still looking to expand my garden profile. You've inspired me to start my own channel to document my experience. :) Btw, I'm envious of you living in the mountain. Especially as it's 110 today here in Chandler, AZ. On the flip side, I can grow outside all winter. Summer is the real challenge. I'll probably experiment with moving my tower inside during the winter months or moving it onto the patio where it gets more shade. Either way, I'll shoot you a message once I get my YT videos going. Thanks again for the valuable input!!! -Jason

Appreciate the comparison. Since you were looking at both systems for outdoor usage, you didn't compare the LED grow light systems. LOOKS LIKE Nutraponics has the advantage with full spectrum lighting.

Yeah, I don't currently grow indoors anymore, had a floor full of water once. So, we decided to grow only outdoors.

Hello do you think that the nutraponic is worth the price and is it long lasting
@UrbanWindowFarmer

I personally would not buy it full price. it would be better to look on Facebook marketplace or Craigslist and grab one second hand.

I bought 2 Nutraponic towers a couple months ago. 1 one on OfferUp and 1 on Craigslist. So far they are going great! Fresh salads every day and my tomatoes and peppers are almost ready to flower.

Is there a way to switch out the base of the Nutraponic to a larger one?
@UrbanWindowFarmer

That's a great question. I looked and looked and looked for a larger base also. I was not able to find a solution. I found a company to build me one, but I was not pleased how it turned out, so never used it.

Hello. I noticed you're using a water hose to fill the reservoir. One of my reservations about purchasing the Tower Garden is that I was told I needed to use distilled water. If you don't mind sharing, what kind of water is coming through your hose?

I just use regular tap water. Have not had any issues with it. Distilled water would be too pricey, especially in the summer when the plants can empty a reservoir every few days.

I have the juice plus tower garden and I've used both filtered water and regular tap water. Doesn't seem to make a difference to the plants at all.

Do both of them have drains on them?. I see the Tower Garden does but dont see one on the Nutraponics

I don't have drains on either. I typically use a small pump to drain the reservoirs.

The best training is the hands on kind. Why folks buy these vastly overpriced towers is beyond me.

Do you know if you can grow WATERCRESS in your tower garden? Anyone done it or knows?

I've never grown it, but the guys over at Agrotonomy grow it on their tower gardens.

I was using a hydroponic nutrient that was dark in color. It stained the roots of the plants. Now I only use Masterblend. I like the results better.
