Hi.... I'm a new subscriber to your channel. 😄 Nice content here. I'm new to music and this stuff. I have a doubt. Could you please clarify? My question is..... Can using external audio interface help in better sound quality while rendering in a DAW? So do I need to buy one?

Hi Thanks for the sub. For mixing, from my perspective, an audio interface might have better converters and a better headphone amp or if you use speakers the sound being fed to the speakers will be better so that the sound you are hearing could be better which will help your mixes but the actual sound of the audio files in the DAW is the same interface or not.

@@PeteCalandra Thank you for the clarification. I'm clear now. 😄 Then I must consider buying one someday.

I've got version 1! Love making loops that degrade and age as they repeat!

Little correction..version 1 is also jfet but an opamp version. The v2 is a discrete component jfet.

Interesting, there is a definite difference but I suppose it all comes down to what you like and want.

I have an unrelated comment: I’d love to watch a video of how you prepare your stems for mixing by the sound engineer.

Hi, I just subscribed. In your intro, you mentioned other Strymon pedals for keyboards. In addition to the El Capistan, which of their pedals do you also like?

Am I crazy or the V1 sounds more organic and open, more 3D compared to the V2?

Hi. Sound perception is highly subjective, especially when listening to sound that has been compressed by KZitem. If you like the sound of V1 better and do not need the extra features, V1 is still a great pedal and you can save yourself some money by picking up a used one. Thanks for watching

I can`t hear a noteworthy difference between the two - they both sound magnificient. I think the v2 has tempo sync via expression pedal so you can use eurorack gate to sync it. But it`s 100e more so I don`t know if that justifies the price difference for me. Perhaps I`ll get the v1 and just dial the delay times by hand and ear (and spend the saved cash for a looper)

I would say the V1 still sounds great and you probably could pick up a used one in good condition and save even more $. Thanks for watching!

I noticed with my v1 some latency issues strangely, especially when using an expression pedal. I’m using guitar if that matters. Would the better processor in v2 help?
@PeteCalandra

Hi I have not yet used an expression pedal with these units. These new processors are much more powerful than the ones used in the older ones so I would hope that issue would be resolved

So you're saying that you notice latency with a delay pedal 😂😂??

What I hear is the dry signal is more present in the v2 pedal, and because of this the repeats sit a bit more behind your tone. I noticed this with my v1 flint, turning on the pedal kind of muddles my dry tone a bit

Interesting. I sold my flint v1 before I could do a comparison with v2. Thanks for watching and the comment!
