*CORRECTION* The Tradesman trim can get the Power Wagon package - you don’t have to get the actual “Power Wagon” trim level to get the off road goodies. Also, this Tremor DOES have the cab mounted bed camera. My bad! Obviously this is a 1 Ton and a 3/4 Ton - they are what were provided, but keep in mind the towing for the F-250 w/Tremor pkg stays the same. Thanks for watching!

Agreed, from my experience and especially those I know that use/abuse their trucks, it's Ford it all the way. The TRX has upped the game in that genre so I'll give Dodge credit in that department. But of course you know Ford's not going to let that slide and I'm sure the next generation will just go back to advantage Raptor. But of these two that Tremor is absolutely badass!

I have the Power Wagon. I had the Ford. The Ford was good but the Power Wagon is great-for what I actually use the truck for. There is just no contest off road. For the things I tow, the Ram works for me, and I have towed over 12,000 lbs several times (Sand, Sod,Rock). I do recommend putting 35's or 37's on the Ram. One final observation. I think the Ram is more comfortable driving long distances than the Ford. But they are both well made trucks and I believe you would be happy with either one on or off road.

Great review/comparison thanks! I love how you brought up the port injection on the V-8‘s as its a far superior design. I went PW for the off road features and softer suspension because I don’t need the towing. 10k lbs is plenty and I’d have NO PROBLEM pushing it all the way to 10k lbs. Most comfortable driving and luxurious vehicle I’ve ever owned. Keeping it forever

Why get a 7,000lb truck with awful mileage that only tows 10k lbs ? Genuinely curious I feel like people step up to trucks this big for hauling or towing. Otherwise why would you get a truck with 16mpg. There’s the Ranger, Tacoma and colorado which all have capable off road models. Or even Raptor leave any other truck in the dust off road. If you don’t care about towing seems like a waste

I saw a video a few weeks ago showing Ford was finally working on their interior. Ford owners will have something that is nicer inside...so they're much more comfy while waiting on a tow truck🤣

@@blindsey8234 Sure, on the redesign. This interior is based on 5 year truck design, still better than the new Chevy interiors. To the point Chevy is doing an emergency interior update on their all-new Silverados.

Love them both and the ‘22s have improvements for each. I’m gonna tow in the future so I’d opt for the Ford with the power stroke. It’s a shame that the Ram PW won’t be getting a Cummins. That would have factored in my decision. Good video. 👍

@kevin "prelim phenom" lee not really , miss out on comestic on the outside. Alot of cosmetic though. Plus the interior looks like its from 2002 compared to the actual power wagon high end speaker systems, display 12 or 8in and much much more. Plus the tradesman w/ PW package is around what ? 52- 55k MSRP? The real PW all done up your around 65k MSRP . For another 10k your getting a way way more badass truck. Thats just my take on it.

I have a badass Tradesman PW, and it’s used as a truck is designed to be used. I hunt, fish, overland, haul wood and tow a off road camping trailer all over Alaska. I don’t see the added benefit of all the extra tech, leather, sunroof, etc when looking at the true uses a PW was designed for (just my opinion, to each his own my friends). If you look at the history of the PW, the Tradesman is actually much closer to the original intent than the Laramie. Both are just as capable, just the interior and cosmetics are different, which gives you choices. I upgraded my audio system, all lighting, brakes, 35 in Toyo AT 3’s, sliders, Line X pro in the bed/bumpers/ lower body panels , cold air intake, exhaust, and made some performance mods with the money I saved, so for me, it was the right way to go. Either way, the PW holds it’s own against anything else on the market when it comes to capability, it is the best rig going IMO. Happy motoring, get out there and get after it!😎👍

Power Wagon any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Just like the way Ram set the truck up even though it doesn't have the pay load capacity, you sometimes have to sacrifice to gain. Most people I know and see on the road and off road, don't use half their pay load or towing capacity anyhow. Power Wagon is a beast. It always has been for the past 75 years.

PS currently own a 2017 Ford F-250 diesel, strongly considering the power wagon as my needs no longer require the massive towing ability...do love my Ford though, it will be tough to see her go

I do valet ,the fords just feels like a massive truck when driving long ass wheelbase and the front end feels like I’m about to hit everything and I drive a Vic . Gotten used to it for the most part. Rams are more comfortable and better interior but ford looks better exterior wise

ford tremor all day until you open the door and sit down and see the dollarama quality of the interior, dash and screen. the interior of the dodge is what sold me and in the end it comes down to who you want to impress.... other people when you drive by or yourself and in this case it is myself because i dont feel ripped off when i sit in the drivers seat and fiddle with my screen.

I have a 2007 F-350 SRW 6.0 powerstroke Detroit truetrac in front Detroit locker in rear 4:10 gears. A front locker is not much better unless you get in crazy rock territory. I've been through mud, sand, mild rocks, ruts, ditches....and always both front wheels pulling. The front truetrac is a beast and as close to a locker you can get! Only issue is on ice in Minnesota, it has a tendency to plow forward even during turning around corners

A solid review, but there are major points missed. The review would be even better if the off road capabilities are compared. Both vehicles are designed for off road conditions, so why not gear the review for it? Get them off the pavement and show what they can do. Talk more about gearing, suspension travel and articulation, etc., the meaty stuff! Thanks for the review!

If I didn’t need to tow anything and wanted a fully capable off-road vehicle I’d pick the PW. If I wanted to tow to off-road locations then I’d take the Tremor. Both are bad ass!

U forgot about the Coolers / Bins in the floor of the rear cabin where U can put drinks, or Tools, anything…??? 🤷🏻♂️ Plus 4:10 gears …🤷🏻♂️👍 I own a 2022 Power Wagon, and I Love It and I don’t need a Towing Vehicle I have Leitner Racks with a Tepui Top Tent on the Racks and a Rhino Rack over the Cab, So I don’t need to tow a trailer.. Plus U Can get the Power Wagon package on other Trims of Ram Trucks ( Tradesman, Big Horn ) it’s just the suspension though.. And Like U said I put 35” Tires on it and it’s Perfect!!! Now I have a couple Buddy’s who put 37” Tires on one and they work but rub ( barely and once in a while ) but it can be done..🤷🏻♂️👍

Pretty sure you can get the power wagon in different trim levels. On tfl truck that had a tradesman (base model) with a power wagon package. Good way to get the off road goodies and save money

The Tremor package is nothing more than a budget 2” lift and 35” tires... It’s an overpriced appearance package. Nothing else separates it from a regular Super Duty. Still has the same stiff HD suspension, no front locker, no electric sway bar disconnect, ect.

@@jaysonsorensen594 The SD Tremor also has additional driving modes and a beefier "rear end" (at least compared to a 250 SD) and bigger tires - but still stuck with 18 inch wheels. Many argue that the elements that are useful for "off-roading" (like the drive modes) are worth the incremental price for them.

I like both, but really dislike the nose/grill on the Ram (interior more than makes up for it though). I'd buy whichever one has the lowest cost of ownership over a 5 year period. Not sure which one that is.

One thing to point out on your tow and payload specs: the Ferd you chose is a 1ton and the Ram is a 3/4 ton. Two completely different weight class vehicles and makes the comparison irrelevant. A proper compare would have been a F250 with Tremor pkg.

Yeah this is what they gave me, I didn’t have a choice. Regardless, the Ford 250 and 350 with this 7.3L and 4.3 rear end tow the exact same - payload drops for the 250 but it’s still quite bit more than the Ram

GaRy - I'll tell you again...I said what grades the trucks were in the beginning and the end of the video..and probably in between. The F-250 w/tremor pkg tows the exact same 15k lbs as the F-350. Payload drops from 350 to 250 but it's still a lot more than the PW. The towing and payload were a very small part of this video. Also...again..I've NEVER owned a Ford but I HAVE owned a RAM..so forget about your fanboy bullsht

Folks, the F250 Tremor and the F350 Tremor have the same suspension, axle, drive train. There is no "true" 3/4 ton Ford Tremor to compare to the Power Wagon. As many have said - they are different vehicles. One excels off-road and is more comfortable to drive with moderate payloads and handles moderate towing very well. Some might say that the PW is like a 1/2 ton truck but with the sturdiness of a 3/4 ton (and thus it tows much better than ratings suggest). The Tremor is a 1 ton truck that does what 1 ton trucks do, rides harsh, and is not as useful offroad. Some people benefit from the 3/4 ton PW BECAUSE of its off-road suspension, and some people want a truck for heavy payload or heavy towing. Pick your poison.

I went from ford to Ram power wagon. Power wagon is far superior as soon as you swap out the 33s for 35s. If you are towing more than 10,000 lbs then that person isnt looking at either of these trucks. I have driven both. I chose the power wagon because its interior is absolutely in a class of its own. Ford is still using cheap plastic buttons and just feels cheap inside. Even the platinum model.

And i will say, if you climb into a limited RAM, nothing touches it. The leather quality is spectacular, stitching is perfect, even the embroidery is gorgeous. Coming from a RAM fan, and someone who sold all the Big 3 had to offer.

I'd take the Ram PW for most reasons, but the terrible payload ceiling kills it for me, the second-worst downside being the sub-15k tow rating. But, both of those downsides are largely down to the fact that the PW is a 3/4 ton, and this Tremor is a 1-ton. If the PW came on the 3500 and had a similar payload as the Tremor, just as with the Tremor it would be the total package of the Ram HD line that wasn't a dually. The Tremor has the payload, towing, and enough of all the other stuff to be probably the single most useful truck. Grocery getter, off-roader, work truck, highway star, tow monster. I have a 2017 F350 FX4 Lariat diesel short bed SRW with similar tires and it's practically a Tremor minus a few of the 2020's new features like drive modes and the 10-speed. It really is a Swiss Army knife of a truck.

Yes. F-350 and Ram 2500. The comparison was not 3/4 ton vs 1 ton. It was tremor package vs Powerwagon - discussing what comes with the F-250 tremor compared to powerwagon. I didn’t choose the specs, this is what they sent. And again, it was about 3/4 ton vs 1 ton.

I thought the real reason of comparing the tremor to pw was for what these trucks were actually built for. Not sound and interior, its whats underneath of them.

Both have ladder frames...different suspension setups. I talk about suspension, power trains, cargo and capacities, seats, and briefly the interior and exhaust...regardless of what’s underneath then..you have to spend your time inside of them and drive them...so why not cover that stuff? It’s the result of what the foundation is that matters... the capabilities and capacities.

Prime Autotainment Dually noted. I own a 2019 PW and I’m just frustrated with some of the videos out there and what the pw was actually built for. The spring rates the gearing the axles. I guess I’m a detail guy. And I should add I did enjoy your video well done. I think I was looking for more of the off-road aspect and comparison. Well done video tho I did enjoy the quality of it.

The RAM 6.4L is JUNK...Have a fleet of them and they stay at the dealership more than they stay on the road...coolant leaks, exhaust manifold leaks causing the dealership to have to pull the heads off at $4000 a pop, mufflers coming apart internally

Not that much more power being a 7 3 vs 6.4. but the srt 6.4 makes 485hp and 475 tq so ram should put the srt 6 4 in some of it's trucks. Like they are using a hellcat 6.2 in the trx rebel.

Truck motors are configured different. Ford could easily get the power numbers above 500 on this truck. But they want to improve on something over the years so it looks like they are trying to make it better, as opposed to just making the highest number they can right away, with no room for improvement.

It's all tuning. The same 6.4 in the RAM is making over 480HP in other vehicles.

Can somebody please explain why in the hell is a power wagon is a HD truck? it tows the same as the 1500, its payload is the same as the 1500. I have yet to anybody explain what makes it an HD

Tremor with diesel. Most ppl with never use those off-road features and if you’re going places you need to, the ram is waaaay too big. Better to go down to a wrangler. The ram payload is a joke so you have this huge truck that useless for work or travel... and it’s too big to really go anywhere exclusive off road anyway. Point is, anywhere you can actually fit the ram, the tremor will mostly likely still go. But for the other 95% of the time when on road doing truck things, the ram can’t do it cuz of the suspension.

The TRX might have temporarily trumped the Raptor in that category, but clearly in the heavy duties the Tremor is the victor. Aside from the interior - which actually would probably hold up better long term despite the 'crude' appearance - the Tremor is just a more complete package with much better capabilities. And even Dodge guys have to admit, it is one mean looking beast!

The Ford rides like a buckboard while the Ram rides like a Mercedes! The Ram does not have the much more comfortable cab and bed of the half ton truck yet!

Everyone complains that the Powerwagon doesn't come with a diesel. Ram said the reason being is that the Cummins would be too heavy for the disconnecting sway bars. I'd take the Ram simple for the sway bars and standard winch.

The 6.4 hemi V8 has reliability issues, the lifters and the cam shaft issues are brutally expensive when you need to have them fixed. The repair job will cost about 5k dollars. See this video for an example of the issue: kzitem.info/news/bejne/tJmnu6uwjWlimo4
