In this video we have compared the reversible isothermal and adiabatic expansion of an ideal gas.it is proved that for the same value of pressure the final volume will be less in case of adiabatic expansion as compared to isothermal expansion. In PV diagram, the curve for adiabatic expansion will be steeper and will have more slope as compared to isothermal curve, so the area under the adiabatic curve will be less than the area under isothermal curve. The area under the curve tells us about the work done. Larger is the area more is the work done. So the amount of work done is more in case of isothermal reversible expansion.
