I had a Differential Equations test I was struggling for on complex eigenvalues and I watched a couple other videos to try and understand the process but this guy absolutely cleared things up and thanks to him I think I rocked the test.

If you were to use the first equation instead and solved for B in terms of A, you'd get B= ((1+3i)*a)/5. So you could have an eigenvector of X = [ 5 1+3i ] This would lead to a different general solution, would it still be valid?

Hi Plato! Notice that if you multiply each element of your eigenvector by (1-3i) you get the eigenvector [ 5(1-3i) 10 ] which is a multiple of the eigenvector we got in the video. So your eigenvector is just a multiple of mine!
