Oh no... Another informative video which has me reaching for my credit card. Please show mercy. I am retired now... In all seriousness I was looking at the DCA75 and a search for reviews brought up this video. Thanks for the work you have done and clear presentation.

Why does the DCA55 fail to measure older TO3 transistors made between 1980~1991. I found it returns very low hFE as compared measuring it with Tektronix 7CT1N plug in as well the old Sencore TF151 here in the US.

Don´t know. Perhaps it cannot supply the substantial base-currents necessary to drive power-transistors into the linear region? Or the other way around: It delivers enough base-current but the resulting collector-current cannot be delivered. That´s you always should have a good old analog curve-tracer with enough collector voltage and current capability (like the one I demonstrated here: kzitem.info/news/bejne/yqmPrqOvnoqnnm0 )

Thank you for taking the time to do these comparisons, I learned quite a bit from it, the one thing I would have to add is that the Atlas Pro DCA75 can be hooked up to your PC ( which I know that you know ) then you do not have to keep pressing the scroll buttons as you can see all the information at once, including a coloured schematic of your component, and as well you can see all the graphs of the curve tracings and even overlay them for comparison purposes, then you can copy and paste into a spread sheet all your data, which you can then analyse to your hearts content, and that is why the DCA75 is more expensive, but again thank you for all the hard work you have done. I have been in your online shop you have some nice things there, have you an English version of your site ?. All the best Bob

Yes. I know. But here I wanted to compare the functionality and useability as standalone-devices. The functionality of the DCA75 Pro when hooking it up to a PC/Laptop will be discussed in a separate video when I compare it to 2 other curve-tracers. I still heavily critize the DCA75 Pro (and the DCA55) for making bad use of the LCD by not having a (selectable) pagewise scroll-mode for automatically displaying all measured values. Pt. 3 of the video-series ("Special functions and final verdict") will be published in a few days. Roger

Concerning our Online-shop: We are heavily working on a new shop where all article-descriptions are also translated into English. But nevertheless you can order from anywhere in the world already now in our German online-shop (for outside the EU just leave us a note about your desired for a quotation because the shipping-costs must be manually calculated for shipping overseas). Yeah. But the initial measurement of the battery-voltage at startup is very unprecise. If you watch when I press the "Test"-Button immediately one after another there are always different battery-voltages displayed. So in the end the battery-voltage was always sufficient during the test.
