Do they make ceramic piezo that can run in the ghz range ? maybe beryllium titanate ? I have a homade klystron tube with piezo arrays running 180 degrees out of phase. creating highs and low pressure in gas tube- then running high voltage pulse threw tube filled with n20 nitros oxide. but 40khz is not even close to the microwave frequency i need . ps im able to transmit and receive with 100% to 110% efficiency and the signal acts like a laser as apposed to normal rf propagation . i apologize for my lack of understanding hence the questions .

I don't think you will be able to transmit GHz signals through air. GHz applications are usually exciting solid optical components.

Hi mate, I'm currently looking into the use of ultrasonic transducers and laser ultrasonics to measure the internal stress of materials. Are you familar with either of these topics or know of any good reading sources regarding this application of piezoelectronics? Many thanks!

Great question, but I'm not experienced in that area.
