@@metatron333ascension others it takes up to five years knowing how to approach compressor, even those who graduated from college,it's very trick but simple one,I don't know why,to me it takes three years to discover how to hear compressor it's so amazing bro, most important thing you got to pay attention to details and finding a lot of tutorials, coz other you tuber just themselves don't understand, greetings from East Africa Tanzania🇹🇿

Am sure most of engineers, especially those who couldn't afford go to college, suffer alot to understand compressor.i know most of us,lying ourselves that we do.but for sure,it takes a long journey with years of hard practising and ears training, not easy bro,if you wanna stand out.guessing always not good idea when it comes to get down with the real business, here we are truth revealed.we gotta struggle hard, facts is it happens loosing hope when you try hard and never see desired results, but never back down,it takes time, and hard work, don't be lazy, getting headache is the only way out.dont expects changes while you dont wanna stay true to yourself.greetings from East Africa Tanzania🇹🇿

1. level flattening, leveling if your track is not constant, you need it la2a, mv2, dc1a and so on 2. envelope design by attack and release - attack it's about distance. close sound has more transient, far sound has less transient. it's "RELATIVE". - release it's about groove you need to set the release by tempo like the decay of reverb. if your track is close and rhythmical, 16th and 8th note will be suitable. 60 bpm, 4th note is 1 sec, 1000ms. 120 bpm, 4th note is 500ms. 8th note is 250ms. 16th note is 125ms. - ratio in general high GR = high ratio low GR = low ratio 3. saturation, color, aggressiveness(pumping) by the NY compression each compressor has the color. if you need it, choose it, color it. that's it. I hope you don't be confused anymore.

You can make instructions on mixing balance frequency like Pro. And blend with ears or eyes when the ear does not hear clearly (or the device is not good to mix)

Disappointing. While I appreciate the desire to move quickly and the good production values, most of the Sage videos are so fast and superficial as to be a waste of time. "Let's listen..." Listen to what? There is no A/B-ing/bypass to hear how a control affects a sound, no real-time description of which controls are being manipulated and why, etc. If this were a crib notes summary of a longer video, that would be fine, but on its own, it's pretty useless.
