Love how down to earth/real your videos are! Just wondering, would you say its possible to get into project management without a technical background (cs, data analytics,etc). Currently studying finance and accounting and I'm interested in product management as a potential for the future!

ty this video is so helpful! I had a few questions - did you take more courses than the ones you mentioned in this video, or is 1-3 courses per semester a typical amount? also, is there a difference in going down the research in cs route in l&s vs eecs? and, I heard that there is a 30% passing rate in the intro classes that require a minimum 3.3 gpa in order to declare a cs major. is that true, and what is your experience with how people do in them?
@evelynshares
3 жыл бұрын
I did take more courses! Here's the follow up video with my full schedule kzitem.info/news/bejne/tY6DwJZ7r4ihaYY I'll have to pull a friend in to answer the research question as I'm not familiar with that route. As for the passing rate for intro CS classes, I'd be pretty surprised if only 30% passed...I tried looking for more info on this but couldn't find any. Unfortunately my sample size for passing rate is just my group of friends, all who passed. The intro courses are tough, but I feel like if you put in the work and seek out help if you need it, you'll be just fine.

Hey evelyn! Loved your video and it has genuinely been so helpful... i had a question though, is physics or any science(chem or bio) required to do cs? As i have maths and IT right now, im so confused please help me out

Cal grad here! (20 years ago lol) Can you talk about the process how you declared the CS major? Im aware of the 3.3 you need in CS 61A/61B/70 but is meeting just the 3.3 enough to get in? Or are you in competition with other students applying where you realistically need to get 3.5+ GPA? Also whats the path of people that dont get into CS major? Do they go into Data Science? (seems newer and less comp). Thanks in advance!
@evelynshares
3 жыл бұрын
Awesome, go bears! You actually only need that 3.3 in those three classes to be admitted to the major. As long as you meet that requirement, you're in the major I believe. eecs.berkeley.edu/resources/undergrads/cs/degree-reqs-lowerdiv For people who aren't able to meet that requirement, I would say I've mainly see people go into Cognitive Science or Data Science since a lot of the prerequisites overlap!
