There actually already is (unused) code for SPSs (and solar neutron activators) that will be integrated as part of process waste control (GitHub issues #25 and #232, likely others). :) Fusion reactor monitoring is a planned feature post-beta release at some point. Since this is currently geared towards fission, I want to get that all sorted out, but in the future I would love to grow this system far beyond its current scope.

@cc-mek-scada
7 ай бұрын
There is a description on the main page of the repository here: github.com/MikaylaFischler/cc-mek-scada?tab=readme-ov-file#scada It's related to industrial automation control systems, which can cover lots of different applications include energy generation.
@jeffspaulding9834
7 ай бұрын
Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition. Basically, it's a system that controls some kind of industrial process and tracks data from it. If you're familiar with Arduino, scale that up to industrial levels and add software to manage it all and you're in the right ballpark. An example would be a refinery. The control system activates pumps, heaters, valves, etc. and monitors things like pressure, fluid level, fluid density, and flow. Oil comes in on a pipeline through a meter, goes into a tank, then gets pumped into a distillation tower where it's separated into different products, which are all further processed, stored, collected, and then dispensed, bottled, or put into barrels. The SCADA system sees everything going on in the plant and allows operators to remotely control everything. Anything unusual gets flagged as an alarm for the operators to act on, and if an emergency situation is detected (overpressure, overflowing tank, etc.) the SCADA system can automatically shut things down to bring the plant into a safe state. All data gets recorded into a database called a "historian" where engineers can keep track of plant performance and find problems like slow leaks or failing equipment. It's a lot of fun if you're fascinated by tech, work well in teams, and have the right skill set. I get sent to all kinds of cool places and work on interesting projects.
