I definitely would have found Conan funny at 10-11. A lot of the jokes may have gone over my head but I think we underestimate how intelligent kids can be at that age and how much they can comprehend, especially now because of social media. I saw my first episode of Conan when I was 13 because he featured a band I listen to, I didn’t pay attention to much of the show because I didn’t really care to be honest. I started watching more of his stuff in high school and watching old clips of Late Night got me through those first few bad weeks of lockdown.

Older Gen Z here, never knew Conan from his original late night show, but I found him on KZitem back in the early 2010’s when he first started out on TBS. I was around 11 or 12 and I remember when I first discovered Conan I just thought he was SO funny! I couldn’t get over it and I ended up watching a lot of his remotes and clips. I think its mostly his crazy sense of humor, he comes off as extremely witty/intelligent, and he mainly drew me in because he just seemed like such an incredibly nice guy I still cant wrap my head around it til this day. He basically blew me away at 11/12 yrs old at the time. Im 25 now, I listen to the podcast almost every single week and his comedy relieved a lot of stress and anxiety that I was going through from a kid to an adult growing up. When he stopped doing late night, it didn’t affect me as much since I was so used to watching him on KZitem. Conan, I hope you never retire you have no idea how much of an impact you’ve made on people’s lives through ur comedy ! Thank you !

Hey, I first got into Conan when I was 12. That's the right age to start appreciating witty and self-deprecating humor, because it's the age when one's reputation in social hierarchies - the dynamic that those jokes often play with - first becomes very important. It's also the age that kids often first get into Monty Python, They Might be Giants, Kurt Vonnegut, Mark Twain, etc. You're in good company!
