Well in a concentration cell, its really all about the difference in concentration between the two cells. Whichever one has the smaller about of concentration, that will be your product. Le chatelier's principle explains why. If you have more of the same thing on one side of the equation, the reaction will push towards the other side to equalize the two. Therefore, the cell in which you have more is the reactants. The cell in which you have less is the products side. Hope that helped :D

someone below said it's difficult to tell cell 1 from cell 2, thus, is unsure about which concentration to put for numerator and denominator for Q-- it doesn't matter. if you get a negative value, just switch the sign, because the value of E has to be positive to do work (and since the absolute values of the two answers are the same). +Catrina Richards

It depends which cell you are changing. Look at the equation in the lecture. You are essentially looking at the term log(Q), where Q is the ratio of the concentrations of the two cells. The higher the ratio, the greater the value of log(Q) is, and so on.

I have a question why Anode( in the left solution) has lower concenatration of [Ca^2+] ( .05M) than Anode? eventhough it creatating it?

is it because it is far from equilibrium, so it create voltage by going same as equilibrium?
