It's great to see some TVS material! A company who truly served the south & southeast investing in programmes and studios and who probably made more programmes in 10 years on air than Southern and Meridian put together - the latter having been on air for 21 years. Although TV has changed and had too in order to compete, I do wonder what the landscape would be in the UK, if the broadcasting act of 1990, hadn't inflicted serious changes to the ITV system.

A rare on-screen role for Nick Jackson, one of the most prolific game show announcers/voiceovers in the late '80s and early '90s. It's a shame he never got any more hosting roles after this!

This is the first time I have seen Nick Jackson in person as he's more well-known for doing voiced-overs on different ITV game/quiz shows than appearing in front of the camera.

Interesting that it used the same CGI board as Classic Concentration.

Jolly good. You knows it's England when the contestants apologise for winning and refuse to take their opponent's stuff in the interests of fair play.

This show was based on an American format of the same name. It originally debuted on NBC in August 1958 with Hugh Downs as host. He would leave the show in January 1969 and be replaced by announcer Bob Clayton. In March of that year, Clayton would be replaced as host by Ed McMahon. However, Clayton would return as host in September, and would remain as host until the show's cancellation in March 1973. There were a couple of weekly primetime runs as well, the first only lasted four weeks as a quick replacement show in November 1958, and hosted by Jack Barry. The second lasted from April to September 1961, and Hugh Downs hosted. A new syndicated version would start airing by September 1973 with Jack Narz as host. He would host that incarnation's entire run up until September 1978. The most recent incarnation, titled "Classic Concentration", for which this version closely resembles, debuted on NBC in May 1987 with host Alex Trebek. He would host it until the show's cancellation in September 1991.

Good show with a great theme. Two observations: it had the typical TVS quiz show hallmark where the host would create small talk with the contestant for the first half of the credits before frogmarching them off the set like the local constabulary nicking a burglar (see also Catchphrase and Hitman). Secondly the graphics were done by a bloke with the unfortunate name of Dick Burn.....

I salute you, TVSproductions82 - I've been wanting to see episodes of Concentration for years so a huge thank you for these and The Pyramid Game. The ONLY thing that would make your channel perfect would be if you had the full version of TVS's last broadcast, Goodbye To All That - do you perchance?

From the 1989's/1990's version. The Concentration board in the original 1958-77 U.S. versions had 30 squares instead of the 25 in later versions.

Interesting that they used the same computer-generated board graphics and the same artwork as the American version-at least for the first series, anyway. I wonder if they were recycled from "Classic Concentration" or if they contracted the NBC artists to create some new puzzles.
