Love it. Just purchased one of these for my garage gym. Glad I found your page. I am a 6'4" 320lb ex football lineman. So, I purchase quality equipment for my home gym. That assault runner from assault fitness is another nice piece of gear as well. I have one of those in my garage gym.

NOTE TO COREY: Concept 2 sells an extra long monorail (this is the rail where the seat runs on that attaches to the fan/handle housing) for the erg, which will definitely give you a bit more legroom. You just have to special order it from them, and you can swap out the one you have now. Definitely give them a call and inquire. There have been 6’10” elite class rowers in the past. Currently one on the US Nat’l Team. 👍 Drag is just gearing. Higher drag= more torque on the lower back. If you know what you’re doing, you can get quite the workout with the fan at the 1 setting. Use the computer to set the Drag Factor to 120-135 (3-6 on most ergs depending on how mush dust is in the cage), which is what most serious male rowers use for training and testing.

Fantastic video! I was debating between models, but I'm neither tall nor big so I have absolutely no reason to go for the tall leg model. It's probably just a greater trip hazard in my garage. ;-)

I'm glad you enjoyed! Yes the price difference just doesn't seem worth it because once you're on it, the height of the machine doesn't matter.

I didn't watch the video. Just thought it would be funny to watch a huge guy rowing. Just as a piece of info to anyone buying this machine "tall legs" on the Concept 2 have to the height of the floor to the height of the seat. It's closer to sitting in a chair than sitting on a rowing machine. It's for people with low mobility. Not taller people.

Thank you! I haven't had the chance to purely from lack of opportunity and budget. But definitely would like to take a look! I've been interested in the Peloton specifically to see if it works with bigger people or not.

I'm a big guy too and like you when I row my arms and elbows are inside my legs when I row. They say that proper form is keeping your arms an elbows outside your legs when you row. However, I find that I'm just too big to row in this fashion. Could you give your thoughts?
@FreakyTallReviews
3 жыл бұрын
Totally agree! I have a big belly and it makes it really tough when you slide forward to keep proper form. I think if you plan to make it work with a rowing machine then flexibility is key and stretching before using the machine would be great, however it's part of the tall way of life that having longer legs and a bigger body makes it tougher to use properly.

@@FreakyTallReviews Love your videos. I am a rowing coach, and you don’t want to open your hips and put your arms on the inside (you can injure yourself). I am only 6’3” (female) but have 36 inseam. You actually need to use a butt pad to get your hip/butt up to get your posture correct. You will find your split will improve greatly. My butt pad is about 2 inches high. Hope this helps. If not, message me if I am not clear. Rowing is a tall persons sport! Glad to see you like the C2.

So I just stumbled on video, I'm in the market for a rowing machine, but I'm 6'4 about 5XX lbs lol will it hold me up
@FreakyTallReviews
3 жыл бұрын
Hi there! so the max capacity is 500lbs so you would be right at the max, if not exceeding it. I will say that these ratings are usually for regular use, so if you put an extra pound on there it's not going anywhere, lol. This thing is built like a tank though so if there's a rower out there that can accommodate higher weight capacities I would think this is the one. I'm at 350lbs and there is ZERO wiggle whenI sit on it so it definitely holds true to that weight rating. Before you buy, I would definitely check into Concept's/Rogue's return policy in the event it doesn't work out for you. Would love to hear your thoughts if you end up getting it!

Is this the standard machine or with tall legs?
@FreakyTallReviews

This is the standard machine, which is the Model D. The price difference to get the taller Model C just didn't make sense to me as once you're on the machines, they function exactly the same.
