This was probably the most 'iconic' image of any jubilee that has ever been seen....absolute goose bumps. Concorde today, would be called a "BOSS", I'm sure!.

2019 or so, the Canadian Lancaster Bomber flew the Blue Spruce route to the UK, and joined up with the Lancaster from the BBMF. There is video of the two Lancasters, and the Vulcan Bomber flying in formation. That was pretty epic.

Advanced technology that 40-50 years old at the time of the fleet’s removal from service. Concorde WAS definitely one of a kind but the whole reason they were retired was the cost of maintaining those older fuel guzzling aircraft was becoming increasingly more expensive and to bring them up to date with upgraded modern avionics (and perhaps getting rid of the flight engineers station) a reduced cockpit crew would have cost millions of pounds to implement. The downturn in air travel after 9/11 was kinda the last nail in her coffin. Even today in 2022 her overall lines have aged well and she still looks like a current day design. As loud, smelly and non-eco friendly as she was no other passenger aircraft could do what she did!

@@apieceofdirt4681 I believe the computer tech that controls the ramps controlling the airflow into the engines that allowed Concorde to supercruise is still a secret to someone (Airbus or the British gov't, can't remember). That would make Concorde still "advanced."

They should never have took Concorde out of service. The Air Crash in 2000 was the beginning of the end and that was 100% human error. Concorde went under some modifications and they did a test flight that was scheduled for September the 11th 2001. The day 9/11 happened which was a huge shock. To this day its a big mistake to kill off the aircraft. Best thing ever made in history.

If that was Brian May's rendition of "God Save The Queen", then I am in tears of joy. Concorde is just simply, the Queen of the Skies. No, wait. I have a much better name. The Goddess of the Stratosphere.

"Concord" the book written by Mike Bannister is well worth a read. This beauty should still be flying but sadly the French were against it because they were losing money when BA were making loads. The accident report was a total sham too, shame on you Frenchies involved
