The product I use to spray on the concrete is a special resurfacing compound, ask at a concrete supplies store because depending on which country you are in the names of the products will be different. The stencil should also be available at the same store. If it is only a small area that wish to do then it may not be viable to do it yourself as you will also need a hopper gun and a reasonably sized compressor, these two items will be expensive unless you can hire them.

We give a seven year warranty but it will last a lot longer than that, I see some that I did almost 20 years ago and they are still holding up well. To keep them maintained you need to thoroughly clean them with a good high pressure cleaner (water blaster) and then give it a coat of sealer, but make sure it is completely dry from the washing, give it at least 24 hours before sealing.

@@MrCustomConcrete That was the original idea but it was a bit hard on the trigger hand because of the angle. I found that spreading your legs while spraying gets you a bit lower. A little tip if you aren't aware, spray the inside of the hopper with WD40, makes it much easier to wash out.

I had this done years ago and I guess the guy didnt know what he was doing so it now is cracked and lifting and looks terrible. I loved it when it went down. How do I resurface over this? Do you need to grind it down? Help
@accentstencil
9 жыл бұрын
Wendy Crispe If it is lifting then the only real way of resurfacing would be to grind off the old stuff and it will take a lot of grinding with a concrete floor grinder with a diamond disc. If you resurface it without grinding you run the risk of the unstable base lifting taking the new coat with it. The cracks are due to the concrete underneath cracking, the sprayed top coat won't crack on it's own. When the concrete cracks the top coat can lift either side of the cracks due to constant expansion and contraction of the concrete. Cracks can rarely be successfully repaired if they go right through the concrete. If you have a lot of cracks you might consider replacing the concrete for a little more than the cost of grinding, resurfacing and trying to fix the cracks. There are many decorative options that can be done when new concrete is laid.
