Excellent explanation regarding the difference between the RBW and span etc.

Can you elaborate how did you measure LISN RF output before connecting it to the spectrum analyzer?

Hi Bernard, you can just use an oscilloscope to measure the LISN RF output. Make sure that the amplitude are within the limit. if you connect the LISN to the mains in the socket, chances are that what you measured are heavily distorted waveform. But the peak value of the waveform should be small enough to upset the RF input of a spectrum analyzer. Hope this helps.

Is there any way to connect another brand spectrum analyzer (e.g. GW instek G-818 ) to tekbox software? or is it possible to give the raw data(like the coordinates of points) to the software to see the signal in the software?

Thank you for great video! Just one question, it seems in the video that Spectrum analyzer is supplied from ordinary MAINS socket and only LISN is hidden behind isolation transformer, is that correct? Are there any dangers in supplying both from isolation transformer?

Hi, yes, you were right. I would probably not supply the spectrum analyser with the same isolation transformer which supplies the LISN.

What conduction mode did you test? Common Mode L only? Does LISN allow for CM-L, CM-N, CM-Mixed, and Differential Mode? Thanks!

Before I turn on my equipment I can see a noise of nearly 40dB from 150kHz to 30 MHz in the analyzer. Should this value be subtracted from the actual readings
@MachOneDesignEMC
3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nikhil, is it 40 dBm or 40dBuV? Generally, the ambient noise floor level should not be too high. My silglent and rig often have about 10dBuV noise floor. Make sure you set the attenuator and pre-amplifier option right in your setting. Hope this helps.

These two signals do not add up! So, you do not subtract ambient noise levels from the actual readings.
