Nice to larp this. But honestly, this doctrine is so out of date even the US didn't attempt it after grenada decades ago. In the meantime airbourne, air assault and airmobile have been decked out with small light tactical mobility vehicles because everyone and their mother can afford a black market igla that'll waste an entire c130 loaded with troops on approach to a drop. Could've tried something like the vdv did at hostomel for some realism. Spreading forces out over a multitude of insertiom vehicles might get you a higher percentage of forces ariving near or on the intended objective in an enviroment where anti air missiles are a threat. But as history showed us, that wasn't the greatest of ideas either against a motivated and determined defender.

pretty good coms maybe a couple issues with the 9-lines and correct verbiage on the ISR side and big a no no i saw a shot where "Reaper" was lasing and waiting for splash and another asset flew through the FOV while also conducting a strike, this is on the JTAC. Shooting platform is normally lowest in the stack or JTAC needs to deconflict assets so that doesn't happen, could've been a fratricide incident or ineffective result on target. but pretty damn good OP id say.

I was going to say the same thing. Except I would point out the DZ would almost never be on the actual airfield itself. Not in a situation like that anyway. You can't have people landing next to shilkas, lmfao. That's no good. I was at Ft. Bragg from 2008 to 2011, btw. 4/73 Cav 4th BCT 82nd. Overall, I'd say they did a pretty decent job, but if they're going for realism, they should include the hour long LGoPs all finding each other in the dark to ask if anyone knows where 'x unit' is over and over until they finally see their units buzzsaw or whatever other rally signal. Then the additional 30min to an hour pulling security waiting for everyone else to come in. Then the final ruck, before securing the objective. I guess my point is that they left out all the really sh*tty parts of a JFEX. All those freezing nutsacks and lots of waiting around. People stuck in trees, etc. Maybe someone could make a realism mod for that? lmfao

@@nicholasvalentine9749 I've realized looking back how crazy it is that so much of that was just experienced as day-to-day work, and nothing really special. At the time, we mostly couldn't wait for whatever 'thing' to be over with, so we could get back to barracks to jerk off and play video games or whatever, lol. Seriously though, at the time, it all kind of just 'sucked'. Looking back though, some of those things were nothing short of incredible. Especially deployments. That's why I think coming home is so hard. The stakes will never be quite so high. Nothing will ever be quite so intense. There's something about willfully putting yourself in harm's way that makes you feel more alive than ever before. It's hard to reconcile that being gone. At least we can still simulate it in Arma though. That's something. Maybe I need to get into base jumping? Or, even wingsuit cliff jumping? Or, maybe even wingsuit cliff jumping from the mountains of Afghanistan while TB soldiers shoot at me again. For the thrills, lmfao. Naw, too much effort. I'll just play Arma, DCS, and get laid. Far more practical anyway. Maybe I could be a racecar driver? Or an astronaut? Those sound exciting.
