Conducted by Bienen School director of choral organizations Donald Nally, the Grammy Award-winning professional chamber choir makes its Chicago debut on March 16th, 2018 with a recent commission from Bang on a Can composer Michael Gordon. Anonymous Man draws on Gordon’s experiences living in a changing Lower Manhattan neighborhood-on a street lived on by some and lived in by others, where what people call “home” differs greatly. The Crossing is joined by the Bienen Contemporary/Early Vocal Ensemble in Gabriel Jackson’s dramatic setting of Pierre Joris’s poem Rigwreck, a meditation on the power of money. The concert is the culmination of The Crossing’s four-day Bienen School residency.
