My first job was there at the White Oak Plant. Started in the Yarn Prep dept and then went to the carpentry shop as a floor sander (part time). Sad to see so much of it is gone... the card room, with spinning room above it and the dye house, opening rooms, machine shop and carpentry shop... just to name a few. There used to be another row of warehouses that were behind the one shown in the video... they backed up to the spillway/creek towards summit ave. My Grandfather worked at White Oak for 52 years... my Dad retired from White Oak with 38+ years with Cone Mills.

It's sad to see these places I once walked in now being torn down. I worked at Revolution but I had some friends that worked at White Oak. It was once a leader in premium denim before being bought out and sold overseas.

So very true. Both of my grandfathers retired from Revolution and many of my other relatives worked the white oak plant including my mom. It seems nothing in GBO looks anything as it did 10 years ago let alone 25 or 30. Kind of sad really

Wow. It really sucks seeing a place with such history be torn down. I thought for sure they would've kept the building for history purposes. What a damn shame

I agree with you. Yes, I checked back not too long ago and most of what you see in this video is still there. It doesn't appear there's any hurry to finish it off.
