"In a project context, conflicts are unavoidable," This is something I absolutely agree with. The approaches for avoiding conflicts are thoroughly outlined and should be adopted by everyone to complete the project effectively, resulting in a positive reputation for the organisation.

If a person is paid high, it normally says that he/she has that expertise to manage the organization or to give proper direction to the PM/Project Team. So it is wise to take his suggestion/opinion in to account as long as there is no gross dispute from the team.

When you want to resolve the conflict immediately then what conflict technique will you use -Compromise/ Problem solving/ Forcing/ Smoothing " IMMEDIATE " being the key operative word

If that HIPPO is also experienced enough (in terms of technology as well as decision making ability) to provide valuable inputs that resolves the problem, we should consider his/her opinion.

Sometime HIPPO opinions also not resolving the conflict rather to play a role of autocratic decision maker.. in that situation what situation it will be, win lose or lose lose.

Conflicts are inevitable. That's why managers are there to resolve them. मतलब "मसले हैं तभी तो मैनेजर हैं"!!

The bosses always forced their views on us who were at the bottom. They cared for nobody else but themselves; they used their dollars to speak for them: a very immoral way of executing authorities over others under them!
