Make sure the code is correct, check it here: excelmacroclass.blogspot.com/2022/05/connect-to-api-excel-vba-macro-part-1.html Also, check if your API requires an API key and you are using the correct URL along a valid API key.

Hi, Can you tell me please how to transfer data from vba to excel sheets I have got data from api call and parsed it and now I have something ticket number stored in a variable in a vba and now I want that big column like output in immediate window to go to excel sheet .

If you have the data in one variable you can put it in a cell (for example cell A1) simply with: Range("A1").Value = myData If you want to extract the different entries or values in the dataset stored in that variable, then it depends on which format it is. For example, if it is JSON format, the most common, you can use the method explained in the other video (2nd part of this one): Connect to API in Excel Part 2/2: Read API JSON Response kzitem.info/news/bejne/xYmQl3iArqeloX4si=AqukQWaEjWM_7PZY If you have other format, you have to figure it out using some VBA functions or maybe libraries.

What if the url I need to access requires API Key? where/how to add it? :) thanks!

Nothing changes, you use the same code with that url. The API should indicate how to build that url along the API key. For example, here's the url to access Google Sheets API along the API key. sheets.googleapis.com/v4/spreadsheets/sheetID/values/Sheet1!A1?key=apikey So I just put that into the url variable as follows: apikey = "YOUR_API_KEY" url = "sheets.googleapis.com/v4/spreadsheets/sheetID/values/Sheet1!A1?key=" & apikey That example is covered in this other video, in case you want to check it out: kzitem.info/news/bejne/zad81Yqbh6JyYGksi=Ds257k5bSI5JO6zY

You probably need an API key or maybe there is some other limitation with the API you are using. First try pasting the URL in the browser and see if it works. If it doesn't, there's nothing the VBA macro can do, you'll need to review the documentation for that API.

Show how to do a post request with a json payload

I will add to my list, but that's just using POST instead of GET and setting the request header to json type before sending the request: HTTPreq.setRequestHeader "Content-type", "application/json"
