Wont aftermarket rods not influence the lubrication of the cylinder walls? Original GM rods had oil thrower tabs on the outer side (crank side of the bearing pocket) most aftermarket rods have nothing? Will I need to modify the rods with oil channels or the crank before use?

Hi i have used rods like this many times before and they have zero impact on oiling.... this is a great upgrade

These rods are pure garbage. Ordered a set for a Coyote 5.0. Machining is terrible. Shot-peening is not consistent. In some spots, the shot-peening has a nice texture and other places, te machining marks visible because those places were not properly gone over. The bolt finish is terrible. Even the cheapest ARP bolt looks like a million bucks. Worst part of all, the maching around the thrust sides was so rough, the burrs kicked up and were never removed. The burrs took up all the rod side clearance. Big end sizing is not consistent. The pin fitting need to be redone. Just because the pin fits by-hand, doesn't mean it's right. By the time you detail the burrs, resize both ends, and weight-match them, you are still left with a sketchy Chinesium rod. I bought them on eBay and they took the rods back, at their expense, without asking any questions. No one every answers questions during the day and all communications happen at night so I'm assuming they people running these crap-part sale stores are all on China time. I'd rather spend double on a set of Manley rods that come with a better ARP2000 bolt. Yes, Manley also gets their forging from China like most of the big names, but at least they have good quality, consistent finish, and name-brand ARP fasteners. An extra couple hundred dollars is not worth finiding out if I will end up with a window in a block.

wow really maybe they do the ford rods someplace else for this Chevy build the rods i got spec out really good so i am thinking they use a different Chinese factory for the ford rods dammm.... sorry

@@maldo72 No need to be sorry. You gave a review on your experience. If your parts work out, then this is great and you saved some money over the typical 'name brands'. It's possible that a large company with a lot of different product lines uses different factories for different products. The set I received definitely looks like it was made by the 'lowest bidder'.

Rods look nice for the money for sure! So you went with 5.7 in rods right? I really wanted to do a 6 in rod/piston setup on mine. Just couldn't see putting a bunch in the LT1 with the aluminum ls2 sitting in the corner. Decided to do the LT1 as a good street/strip motor and build the ls2 with full forged internals. Got to find another car or maybe a c10 to put the lt1 in when it's time.

If mine had been a 4 bolt already that would have probably changed my mind though lol. Wouldn't take much convincing. I love these LT1 motors

yes i that's why i am being so cheap with this build just want to get car up and running so i can build the rear mounted turbo setup i have been planning for a while (already have turbo and bits and pieces etc ) i was even thinking of going off the deep end and do a turbo k24 swap to piss people off in my old age... there is a guy who builds a bell housing to mate with the 6speed lol .... with a engine like that the weight distribution would be insane and make the car lighter and handle like a f1 .... will pass on the LS engine done to many of them and they are in everything take the fun out of it ..

@@maldo72 I say roll with the turbo k24! Would be a cool build. One of my friends just made 950 whp from a turbo k series in a 4 door civic lol. Cool sleeper car! To me if it's fast it's fun!

do you think that is a wise choice when you have an LS2 that will crap all over a 350 no one bothers with them anymore, The mighty LS has killed off the old Chevy small block we are in the era of Turbo LS only exception to that is fords coyote with a supercharger but the money you haft to put into it still wont touch an LS

@@LSturboguy already had the LT1 for about ten years just needed to be freshened up. Did some cheap thing to mine to make it a bit better. All I have for the LS2 is the block and some odd and end pieces.... still going to build it next and think it's a great platform. I see it a little different than you on the LS being almighty. There's a bunch of turbo gen 1 sbc cars beating turbo ls setups at the track and vise versa. Even some LT1 combos running in the 7s. Budget is everything. On a cheap budget hard to beat an ls but if you're looking for 1500 hp or more they are all going to cost you and most will go to aftermarket block. At that point stock ls2 block isn't going to keep up with the better blocks. Now aftermarket ls block and machine work by tkm is where its at! Just out of my current budget. Got quoted like 23k for a setup like that. Sbf guys been fighting this for 50 years with the blocks being the weak link. Coyote motors are strong for what they are but limited bore size is what keeps them from going but so far is my understanding. A bigger bore spacing version would be interesting to see there. Bottom ends seem pretty stout though.

speed master blatantly copied a small businesses design to the point where the broader performance (original designers name) was still milled into the valve body without his knowledge. This is an unethical business and you should not buy from them. Their quality is terrible that is why they got found out the fake speed master valve bodies broke and people where trying to rma with the original designer. don't buy speed master
