You are my only hope! No one seems to give me an answer. I have a trailer with factory solar. I also do have a Jackery and a 100 watt Jackery solar panel. I had a plug put on my trailer to add a suitcase panel. I would like to use the Jackery suitcase to help charge the trailer battery. The problem… I need a controller also. What adapter can I use to plug the panel to the controller then to the plug. I think the hard part is finding an adapter for the panel to the controller. Thank You!

I just purchased (2) more Jackery Solar Saga 100 panels. I plan to upgrade from my Jackery 500 in the future. I also have a Goal Zero 150 that was my introduction into portable power. I would like to be able to charge the Goal Zero using one of the Solar Saga panels. Do you happen to know which one, and where I can buy an adapter plug to go from panel to power unit? You seem to be the reliable and knowledgeable person to ask. Thank you!

Is there a connector to use two jackery solar panels going into the jackery 500? Something similar to the connector you get with the 1500 but would need the small 8mm end.

Hello Niko You need this. But please check it and make sure it fits the connectors you have. Sometimes the plastic on the male connector is too big for the female sockets. Its working on my setup but production varies and its impossible to say with 100% certainty. Please report back. I have the Jackery 500. I bought it primarily to maintain ham radio communications during a power outage. It is used daily to power a desk fan, keep my phone charged, power my radios, and run small appliances in my shop on occasion. It always travels with me when away from home overnight. I have (2) Jackery 100-watt panels for emergency and for camping. I would like to upgrade to a 1000 or 1500 watt Jackery one day but find that the 500 does all that I need for now.

To be honest, I would really enjoy a Jackery 300 or 400 level class. Everyone is doing Jackery 100 and 200 level classes. I know its not much to learning a battery power station but the amount of entry level classes is staggering. What would really be awesome if someone had such a excellent command of Jackery products they would be able to produce a 500 level, maybe even a 600 level demonstration.

Anything below 300 does not have much power. If I could only have one it might be the 500 which is a great starting place. I have the 300, 500 1000 and 1500. I use the 300 and 500 together on the majority of my trips. 300 with a Jackery 100 watt panel is a killer. Provides enough power for my computer and wifi hotspot for hours. Recharges very quickly with 100 watt solar panel. 500 is a favorite too. Has enough power to run my trailer 2 nights including laptop. 1000 and 1500 I use in short days of winter This is my Jakery play list I hope it helps. kzitem.info/door/PLVxlmS-2xmBWf1Xso6sDRJaV0QVZtBpiK 𝕋𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕜 𝕐𝕠𝕦 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕨𝕒𝕥𝕔𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘! ✅ Check my other videos kzitem.infovideos SUBSCRIBE kzitem.info =𝓒𝓸𝓼𝓶𝓸 ✅

you got quite the collection of connectors Cosmo, I'm the same way with wires, charging cables , connectors etc. but I do wish they would all go with a standard connector and mc4 on the other end as most solar panels use that as a standard plug, currently I'm looking at the Bluettie just released eb3a and eb55 ,they've really stepped ahead of their competition with those new units , it's impressive to see these solar generator companies advance their technology. thanks for sharing and safe travels.

Still waiting for Jackery to send me something....probably going to be a long wait lol....but my second SOK is installed and charging up right now...once both batteries are at full charge state I'll make the final connections and then heading out this week to try it all out. I'll have 412 amp hours or 5272 watt hours of energy on hand now with a max continuous discharge current rating at 200 amps.....

SOK it to me Todd! Boffo system you built. Cant wait for some video on it. Did you use circuit breakers? Fuses? Or both? =Cosmo
@BirdPhish
2 жыл бұрын
@@CosmoWeems Hahaha...I have a circuit breaker/dual pole cut-off for the solar panels so I can isolate them and a 50 amp fuse protecting the solar charge controller and then the main system fuse is a 300 amp along with a main disconnect switch to shut off the system. The BMS in the batteries also have protection built in...max output is 200 amps each battery or 400 amps total for 3 seconds then it'll shut 'em off. The 2200 watt pure sine wave inverter draws around 200 amps when outputting the full 2200 watts so it's sized well together.

Second comment…. The plug that was added to my trailer goes direct to the battery. Are you saying that the controller comes after the plug? I’m lost because some suitcase panels have a controller on back of the panel. My plug is on the main tub with propane. I think I would be safer to have the controller somewhere else and not the tub in case of propane leak. I was thinking of just setting it in the storage bag of the solar panel.
@CosmoWeems

Hi There must be a controller between the solar panel and the battery in the trailer.
@tjphoto8943
2 жыл бұрын
So the setup would be having an 8mm female socket at one end and bare wires to connect to controller. Then bare wires from controller to the M4 plug on trailer. Then that should do it. Was thinking of just keeping the controller in the storage bag on back of the solar suitcase. All sounds good to you?

Cosmo I love your videos. Please keep making more. What comments do you have regarding extensions? I have two rockpals 100w with a Y Anderson connector converted to XT60 with an adapter into an Anker 757 battery. I love the setup but would like to get at least 20-30 more feet between panels and battery. I think I could extend either Anderson to Anderson or between XT60 adapter to XT60 input to battery. Is either one better? What’s the impact of a 30 foot extension?
@CosmoWeems
2 жыл бұрын
Hello X 30 feet is a long run for 12V. You will probably get less than 12 volts on the receiving side. Maybe 10 or 11 depending on wire gauge and other factors. Sounds like you can use these XT60 segments. This one is 12 gauge (12 is pretty good for what you are planing I would not go with a smaller gauge). I pumped your numbers with assumptions into a loss calculator www.calculator.net/voltage-drop-calculator.html?necmaterial=copper&necwiresize=1&necconduit=pvc&necpf=0.85&material=copper&wiresize=0.4066&resistance=1.2&resistanceunit=okm&voltage=20&phase=dc&noofconductor=1&distance=30&distanceunit=feet&eres=12&x=57&y=22&ctype=nec 𝕋𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕜 𝕐𝕠𝕦 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕨𝕒𝕥𝕔𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘! ✅ =Cosmo

Assuming 12 volts out of the panels the receiving battery voltage will be 10 volts at 30 feet. I have experienced similar voltage drops. I used 20 volts since many panels output that - its less as soon as you hook it to something but for this calculation its close enough. You can change the numbers to your panel output. Looks like it will work loss wise. Check everything! =Cosmo

Bought the van , 2019 ProMaster with only 14,000 miles on a Saturday, worked on it Sunday, ordered a new window Monday, went to DMV to register on Tuesday and when I got home I noticed oil leaning, called AAA to tow it to Dodge, the Dodge boys called and said it was a warranty repair no worries but the part is back ordered. So for two weeks now I have a house full of new gear but no van to put it in. Just got home from the Sierra's though and had a lovely time with my ProMaster City van.
