Yes…but I also only had a few games because I couldn’t afford my own games lol but I agree. I just think all the sales and ways to get games for cheaper makes it hard

I've got about 5 games in a backlog at any given time. I've learned to sit down and enjoy each one and slowly finish them and start another list of 5 games. Start with the shorter genre and then tackle the longer ones. FPS - Doom etc. > Platformers - Ratchet and Clank etc. > Action Adv. - Uncharted, Tomb Raider etc. > RPGs - Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Witcher. Also if I get burnt out on a genre I'll start up a different one on the list and then mix two if I'm not really ready to take a break but I wanna keep walking down the path to the finish line. RPG and FPS for example. I'll mix/match on a given day for a few hours a through the week. set milestones also. trophies/achievement hunting? set a few in each game to get that gives you a decent amount of playtime on each. various little things like this will help you slowly break down your list and give a sense of completion. hope this helps anyone.

Great advice! And tbh, I think there’s just so many great games and also accessibility to older titles through backwards compatibility, which makes it hard to stay current lol

How about setting life goals for yourself i.e. health, wealth & financial goals? Don't just hope to achieve them, plan to reach each goal. Now you can schedule your day to take small incremental steps to achieve each goal. Timetable in game time (1-2) hours a day & only buy games a year after their release with all DLC at a discounted price. Once you realise the power of time & how quick it passes you'll wish you started sooner. I find too much gaming only insulates you from life & that's not good. Escapism is good for a few hours, just have to regulate it. Not the answer you were expecting, but good luck building your channel.

Using The Legend of Zelda as an example to wait for a sale was a bad example. Nintendo games rarely go on sale and always keep their value. Especially new releases

I don’t think it’s a bad example. Just depends on how badly you want to play it

I have to strongly disagree about sub services and the backlog (or what I call the library). I finished 38 something games, many departing ones, in a a span of 30 months while on a sub service. 90% of those are AA and indies, but their departure from said service spurned me to finish them. Good points about the spreadsheet. Without it, I would not have figured out on a clear manner that I tend to finish AA and indies for the most part. I like looking at the sheets which show the games I finished and the time it took The downside of sub services is that I don't have the time to buy AAA rpgs even if they were on sale. I want to get to FF Remakes and XVI before 2025

It’s different for everyone. I just don’t want people adding every new game from subscription services to their backlog since the services are updated like twice a month already. It’s a lot to keep up with
@CardCrusher29

@@MxnsaXP You have a point about sub services being not a good fit for those with large backlogs. Keeping track alone of new entries involve looking up gameplay (on mute) just to find out if they're for me. It also involves keeping a spreadsheet of games to queue. In any case, I end up satisfied with finishing at least one AA/indie title per month.
@MxnsaXP

@@CardCrusher29 one smaller game per month is good. Realistically, "finishing" these AAA games is always rushed because we have FOMO and sometimes fear of spoilers

lol it's important to set aside some you time. your s/o will understand (or should) and use that time to just crank out some games. family can watch but those precious few hours or a day is dad/mom time devoted to gaming lol. .. or just ya'know.. sell it all and get a mini van and live the rest of your life remember the good ol' days and slowly die knowing poor mario and master chief are somewhere in videogame land waiting for you to move them from that killable enemy just inches away. or nathan drake is dangling from that ledge knowing that you'll pull him up...
