BirdLife South Africa is a firm believer that conservation needs to start with conversation.
On Tuesday night at 19h00 (SAST) Dr Kyle Lloyd, Wetland Conservation Project Manager/Rockjumper Fellow of White-winged Flufftail Conservation at BirdLife South Africa joined us on Conservation Conversations.
In this webinar, Kyle touched on how our wetlands are facing threats from activities that destroy and degrade these environments which in turn will hinder them from providing local and downstream communities with water resources. BirdLife South Africa’s Dr Kyle Lloyd oversees the research and conservation of wetlands used by the Critically Endangered White-winged Flufftail. This rare and secretive bird serves as a flagship species for safeguarding South Africa’s wetlands and the ecosystem services that people derive from them.
