Tech Dyer: Having watched your pro-vid (your presenter skills have some smooth cut) I now see why my Consolidated 227r2 isn't designed for the binding attachment... I just picked up a low-mileage 226 and will be seeking a proper binder for that. We appreciate your art! Thank you!!!

This is a great video. I have a 223 without the stitch length lever. It has a cover plate over that and seems to be fixed to one setting. Do you know of a service manual that would show how that is connected? I want to convert it so I can change it to other stitch lengths.

Does yours have a "R" after the 223? If not, there is NO REVERSE!

Correct me if im wrong but arent you suppose to run the thread all the way up to the bar that sticks out and loop it over before bringing it down to the second disk?
@AlexanderDyer

You are not wrong. I have seen it both ways and I tend to thread in the manner you indicate more these days.

The only change between the R model and non R is the reverse application? What does "singer clone" means?

I still have this one but I put so much money into rebuilding it I think I will keep it, its nice. I found this one locally through craigslist. Try your local listings and be willing to drive a bit for the best deals. Try nickosew.com and www.collierequipment.com/

I still have this and I originally bought it to sell. I had to replace so many parts that I am upside down, meaning I have more money in it than it would sell for so I have decided to keep it and use it since it works so well and is a fully refurbished machine.

Good ear. I rebuilt the lower end in this machine, someone before me had put cheap aftermarket parts in it. It sounds better now, hear it here kzitem.info/news/bejne/z6totn-AsHphg2k
