I have 2 people actively doing consignment through my PM. It’s been alright, not my favourite as I really enjoy shopping and sourcing, but still good!

Hi Ashley, I don't know how you always manage to make helpful and informative videos, but you do. 😀 It appears you've won the lottery in consignment clients. I inadvertently took on a client (will be selling a few items for a friend), so this info is timely. You are right about letting people know about reselling. I've been given clothing from family (for free). Whatever was unusable to sell in my closet I donated to a thrift store (and got discount coupons). Thanks! Jodie

Aww thank you, Jodie! So glad to hear it was timely and helpful. Yes to telling everyone about what you do! I love the donation coupon. I’ve stocked up on a couple recently 🎉

As for me, I’ve declined requests to consign clothing because I mark blue sell locally for cheap so it’s not worth my time. Also sourcing in my town is super hood in terms ofconstant 4-5.00 bag sales and dollar sales. But it’s a great idea in the right ciircumstances. I do have a wreath ly (but really humble) friend who’s a constant over shopper. Every year she declutters and has given me arm loads of clothing, many new with tags. She refuses any compensation as she’s only too glad to get rid of her stuff. 😀💖

I have a friend who consigns for people and does well. It helps that she works as a real estate assistant and sells larger items for clients moving and downsizing. She has emptied a couple of households. Although she charges only 30%, it adds up fast. Eg: a selling a lawnmower for 100 would give her 30.00. She sells thousands of dollars worth of hard goods. She also sells clothes for friends and acquaintances.

Great video Ashley and thank you for sharing some of the gorgeous pieces! I have a family member that approached me to sell items on their behalf but I've shied away from it as I have a smaller closet and it's a lot of work to post and manage each item. I do like the idea of buying items outright so I don't have the split percentage looming over my head. I'm curious how you would calculate a consignment item if it was part of a mixed pieces bundle. Thank you!

Thanks for watching. That’s such a great question! Math isn’t my strength, so I’ll do my best to explain. I basically do some post it note math to figure out the percentage off that the item was sold at in the bundle, then factor in the Poshmark fee and then subtract the taxes. Thankfully this doesn’t happen too often for me, and I’ve found that often items from one client will sell together in bundles since they’re similar sizes and styles.

Ashley! I saw there was a Poshmark live event yesterday, but I missed it due to work. Just curious if you attend and what it was all about? Also would you ever consider doing a video about what to keep a look out for this coming fall and winter season? I think you mentioned before that PM sends out a report on this? 🤔

I’ve attended many of the Posh Party Live events, but not this one. Usually there’s an interesting panel and some networking. Worth checking out if you’re available, especially while we can’t really gather in person. I’m actually planning a video on planning for Q4, so stay tuned for that 🍁
