I appreciate another rider who breaths heavy when recovering from "extra work" on or off the bike. My friends enjoy giving me a hard time when I am breathing hard on the comms. Good series of vids. Quality work.

Haha so true, it’s also the curse of having a mic in the helmet. Glad you’re enjoying the series so far!

Had you cut over to Henry's Lake from Monida (as opposed to from Lima), you would've avoided the muddy mess, South Valley Rd to the south of Lima Reservoir and Red Rock Lakes is well maintained gravel. North Valley Road sucks in both wet (muddy) and dry (dusty, silk).

Good to know! I’ll make note of that for when I’ll run this again at some point. Hard to know what sucks and what doesn’t unless you know the area haha

I’m really enjoying your videos. They are encouraging me to do this trip ( when it’s dry!). Thank you for posting and looking forward to future episodes.

Oh man sorry Montana didn't treat you well, it's difficult when it's wet up here. Amazing the drastic difference in road conditions once you cross to/from Idaho! Seems like from previous videos, your drone crashed twice in the power lines, that's a bummer.

I love Montana, such a stunning state! The mud did get to me but that’s all part of the adventure haha.

what month did you do the trail? ` sorry to hear that you've had such a tough time with mud. I've seen people place phones (and tablets?) in tank bags with clear plastic windows on top - to moderate vibration, which damages them.

The tablet issue was due to a bad connector from the manufacturer, that has been fixed now so no issues with the tablet itself. I did the trail in early September

The first half of the day was some of the best riding of the trip, the second half was some of the worst haha

You're not the first to lose a drone in that canyon. My buddy had his get attacked by an eagle!

Seems like that canyon needs a new name

Another good one! Keep em coming!! Sorry about the drone. Don't know if they still support but I sent mine in to be fixed and they did a great job. Kinda pricey but cheaper than a new one.

Thanks! Yea got it fixed, wasn’t too expensive either, just sucks to not have had it for the rest of the trip.

Beautiful part of the country!! I'm curious if you use tracks or routes with your GPS and where you got them from for this ride? That Skydio sure did a great job! I had been considering one myself, but procrastinated just enough to where that wasn't any option any longer. So, I upgraded to a Mini4 Pro....and it seems to have pretty good obstacle avoidance as well. Skydio good, I don't know, but they claim it has 360, so we shall see!

All the tracks are listed in the video description, I used a mix from other people and added some myself. For the Skydio there just isn’t a replacement, the DJI minis are great but the following is just not something that works for me, it’s too slow and having to have a controller doesn’t work well. You can still find used Skydio on Facebook marketplace and eBay from time to time

@@NikoKavallar I think the camera is probably better with the Mini4Pro, and for what I'll probably use it for, the obstacle avoidance is good enough I think. It seems that Kevin's routes are outdated at times, so I may steer clear of his stuff...although that just adds to the adventure I guess! I am curious though if you find the tracks option better to follow....or routes?

@twobikesandadrone Kevins routes are mostly good, I followed Meerkat ADV routes a lot but ran into some issue too. The most consistent ones seem to be from One Man Trail (find it on google). But in the end just get a bunch of them so if you find a roadblock you have alternatives ready
