I still see the same question why do you add the mass entering to the difference of the mass respect to x to calculate the mass leaving in EFGH??

@@rahulmelkani6966 let try with an analogy. let's say a train arrives at a platform there 20 people entering the train per sec at that platform and there are 10 people leaving from the train per sec on the same platform. than tell me what is the rate of increase in number of people in the train. i don't know wether i explained it well enough. but mujee to aisa he samja.

Still don't understand why you need to add the Mass coming into the element @ABCD to the rate of change of mass in the x-direction in the element to get the mass exiting the element at EFGH, anyone?
@debodeep2730
6 жыл бұрын
I too have the same doubt the rate of change term should be substracted......from the mass entering ABCD....that will give the mass leaving from EFGH
@vivek-yo5zv
6 жыл бұрын
We have to add rate of change in mass with mass entering the face ABCD. It's because the here we use integration to find the rate of change in mass which gives exact value of change in mass it may be positive or negative. So by adding the rate of change in mass with the mass entering through the face ABCD we will get the mass of fluid leaving through the face EFGH. He take 2kg-1kg just as an example.
@xeransampang5065

this man is saying, rate of increase of mass in x-direction but is subtracting ABCD-EFGH (2-1).. what does he mean
@brianmanoj9451
4 жыл бұрын
He was trying to say that when a liquid of 2kg flows through an area...and it flows out with 1kg...so the remaining liquid in the element will be 2kg-1kg=1kg...
@dashamoolamdamu1913

@@brianmanoj9451 so in that case its actually rate of decrease in mass?

No sir it's wrong to say that if fluid is incompressible density is constant, In incompressible flow there may be variable density flow, the material derivative of density may be zero for incompressible but still density may be variable
