Yep. It’s a journey and you won’t always get the right people first time around.

Thanks for the great video!🙌🏼 Another interesting topic about this would be to talk about the challenges of having your first employees working remotely from other countries and only meeting them with online calls - how important is it to have a founding team together (geographically) in a very early-stage startup?🤔

Great video! Have you come across any resources for first employees to use to help them succeed? Books/podcasts/trainings etc.

One thing you mentioned is that vcs prefer multiple founders. I’ve been working on a project for 4 years now and have basically learned to do everything from devops to marketing. I’ve also been able to fund two developers and have brought the project to the point where we can start rolling it out with minimal features. Would the investors still be weary of one founder or would they recognize my perseverance and accomplishments

Yes tbh as it’s less so about you being able to do everything and more to do with, what if you get burnt out, or sick or simply don’t have anyone to challenge your thinking.

Great video! Thanks! I have a question. I am ideating a start-up and planning a pitch. I want to get a pre-seed fund from the pitch. Going to hire two or three crucial staff and contract the rest. Does it sound doable if I include the placement consultant cost in the pre-seed fund for the crucial staff?

Of course, in reality, whatever you think best should be the plan. Your the one who needs to make the calls and has the best judgment to what will make your business a success. Consultants are great as they are easy to high and fire meaning you can be nimble and increase / decrease your burn rate (how much money you spend a month) as you need so it’s wise to say you will hire a blend of consultants and full time staff. The only issue comes when you get your core tech build only by consultants, as investors want to see that the core knowledge is in the core permanent team and is another measurement of IP in the business.
