Social deduction isn’t a new game concept in the slightest. Social Deduction games follow the same core premise - Informed minority versus an uninformed majority. Ever since the introduction of Mafia, we have seen countless takes on the genre including Werewolf, Secret Hitler, Trouble in Terrorist Town, Secrets, Mindnight, Throne of Lies, Town of Salem and I could go on. All of these range with various degrees of complexity and layers of strategy - and while all of them are successful in their own rights - none seem to have the community that Among Us has produced.
