Great content as always Eric! Very helpful. I don't have a Stream Deck, but here's a small tip if you want to only use a single button to toggle on & off (saving a button on the Stream Deck): You can create a basic toggle style script in Shortcuts. Essentially you "Get Power State" of a device -> If Power State is 1, Set power off -> Otherwise, Set power on. Then assign that shortcut/app to an "on/off" button on the Stream Deck.

Thank you! I have a Lopuedeck CT - photo/video editing console similar to stream deck. I followed the same steps to create the shortcuts, and used a similar approach in the Loupedeck software to assign the buttons to the app launching.

Hey Eric - After some experiementing with the Stream Deck mobile version - You can control shortcuts through a Stream Deck plugin and you can control Sonos through a shortcut add-on called Soro. There is a slight delay in execution of the action but it works pretty well.

Is there a toggle function so you don't need to take 2 buttons but just one? Or you must have 1 as on and 1 as off?

Thanks George! I appreciate the content idea for a video about using Shortcuts to control HomeKit. You can't set a custom icon for a Shortcut inside the shortcuts app, but there are some creative ways to use a custom icon on your iOS Home Screen to trigger a shortcut.

This video gets a little into the parallel world of Mac automation which is something I’m passionate about but isn’t home automation, so yeah many apps and terms might be less familiar. But give it some more videos and I bet you’ll pick up more soon
